Express Post Query

Hi All... Bought an expensive handbag and the seller was wonderful and said due to immediate payment she would post it immediately by Express Post... Well I've been tracking it and it said yesterday on route with delivery driver.... then said delivered... however didn't get delivered to me... 😞

I've checked the address with the Seller - All Good - I've called Australia Post and lodged a query as to where it was delivered... I've called them back this afternoon and they said no news yet try again tomorrow... What if it's been delivered to the wrong address and they don't hand it back... I hate the fact that the Seller sent it and all details were correct but they didn't deliver it to the correct address.. I know it's early days but I've got a really bad feeling I won't see this bag... anyone else had the same problem but did in fact get the parcel turn up?

All things crossed ... 🙂

There seems to be a bit of this going on at the moment. Australia post workers are not doing there job. Marking items as delivered when they are not. I have one also at the moment marked as delivered but buyer is saying it hasn't been.

I know scary isn't it.... you see so many vans with Australia Post just stuck on the side... so they're employing extra staff for Christmas... are they honest that's the question... Look I've never had problems before but this one I watched and tracked it as I was so excited to get it as it was a Xmas gift from my parents who live overseas so they said get yourself something nice.. so I did.  and unfortunately ... so far no good... I saw it was onboard with the driver and thought "yay not long now" and then it said "delivered"  ummmm where ... I had no mail ??

If the vans are signed as Australia Post vehicles they are not being driven by extra staff...they are AP regular sub contractors or couriers.

Extra staff are employed in sorting facilities, not as drivers or couriers.

sueg I am going to cross my fingers for you......

You would think there would be some accountability the delivery people would have to take for thier loads each day.

Surely serial complaints would warrant some sort of serious invesitgation by Australia Post.

I must say I am a little worried now I bought myself an LV handbag the other day ..*crossing fingers toes eyes everything!

Well that's a relief Lyndal ... my regular postie is on leave at the moment... he always knocks for a chat and is a lovely guy... I never see the new one... I hear his bike and he's gone... I might try and knock him off in the morning and ask him where my parcel is 🙂

Cat Surprised  LOL my*mum.... well not literally (both ways ) Smiley Surprised

retailtherapist... I hope and pray you get your bag... we girls have to spoil ourselves sometimes and this was my one off for the year ... yes you would think they get their quota for the day and would be accountable for it... there are so many threads on missing mail... I know there are some dodgy people out there but for the majority we're good people... I've been up to the post office twice and called them 3 times... they're gonna get really sick of me ...  I had an incorrect delivery the other day and took it straight back up to the post office as it had been left in my letterbox... it's now Weds so if that had happened on Monday I'm sure the person would have made an effort to return it by now... Will keep you posted !!

Once again this is a case of a seller thinking a limited tracking number is sufficient, unless you want to pay a refund you have to either use click & send, signature required or extra insurance if you want to be covered by Paypal and indeed make sure your buyer has a reasonable chance of receiving the item.

I have twice had seller's try and convince Paypal that they are covered because the tracking says delivered however when I called Paypal and told them it only said delivered to the mail centre they checked while I was on the phone and gave me the refund. I don't know what happened with the seller for one of them but the other spit the dummy big time because they had nothing with my address or even postcode on it so Paypal took the money from them, they then bleeped in their own nest by leaving me a neg comment feedback!

IMO you won the claims because the sellers were unable to provide proof of addressee details.

As long as a single tracking event shows in the system between lodgement and delivery - that is suffice for paypal disputes where a seller also has proof of addressee.

Hi PJ

Thanks for the update... look I feel bad for the Seller as I paid and thought nothing more of it ... she had then sent me an email saying as I paid so quick she would send it Express... me in Friday mode thought awww how nice ... I really don't know what to do now... I don't think I'll get reimbursed through PayPal as it says delivered but it only says delivered to the Hastings DC ?  When I ring Aus Post they "don't know where it is" again no addresses on file as it would clog up their system... so all they can tell me is what I can already see online by tracking the item... I sat here on Monday and watched it go from Onboard with Driver to Delivered... yet nothing came here?   I really don't want to lose $165 but I don't want the Seller to lose it either ... surely AP are at fault here... ?  I now have to go back to the Seller and ask her to start chasing from her end as Aust Post won't do anything further for me as the Buyer.

Should I call PayPal ?   I know I'm a long time Ebayer but this is honestly the first item that has been MIA

Thanks Sue 🙂
