I bought a 'good quality NZ solid pine dresser' from seller <Removed>. I had to pay cash on delivery. When I removed the item from the box it was rubbish! The 5cm pieces glued together were the knotted offcuts, and NOT NZ solid pine! The finish was shocking, with chips and the pieces did not meet together smoothly. I contacted the seller, but the seller refused to refund me. I opened a dispute and was told I had to pay the return delivery fee. The seller contacted me and told me they would not refund the cash delivery fee. Returning the item would leave me about $200 out of pocket, so I just kept it. The seller told ebay they had offered me a full refund (lie), and claimed I was racist (lie). I left appropriate negative feedback, stating it was 'poor quality cheap chinese junk' (it was not NZ solid pine, it was from China). My feedback has been removed, I put it there to warn other buyers, this makes Ebay a safer place to buy! This has reduced my faith in Ebay feedback ratings and has definitely influenced my buying, I would rather go to a store from now on!

Then how did the seller know that the radio was in working condition if he could not start the radio up with the battery he was supplying as a complete package ?
The fact is, he knew that the battery was faulty and decided that because the return freight would have amounted to more than it probably would have cost to source a S/H battery locally he decided to see if he could try his luck ripping off someone on the other side of the world.
I am not complaining about the fact that Ebay sided with him, his account is probably worth more to them than mine and they are notorises for protecting their big account sellers, but the fact that this shark will get away with this again and again because no one will have any warning what he is like.

It doesn't matter how he knew.He said it was in working order and it was. He also stated clearly in his listing that he didn't know the state of the battery.

Yeah, probably the reason i wouldn't make a good Ebay seller.
I don't have that killer instinct to rip people off and then laugh about all the mugs on Ebay ready to trust them.
Never mind, lets see how they get on with nobody providing any feedback, maybe the shonks and the ripoff artists can start on each other with Ebay egging them on.
Ebay was a good idea when it started but i think its time has come to shut it down and the lowlife can go back to flogging their trash out of their car boots in dark alleys at midnight.
