Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me, I don't seem to be having any luck through pay pal.  For some reason, when I make a purchase through ebay and pay with pay pal, the money is now coming out of my savings account instead of my credit card like it always was.  I never authorised this change, my credit card limit has never been reached, so I don't know why all of a sudden pay pal has changed my settings.  My question is, how can I change it back so purchases come off my credit card and not straight out of my savings account?

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Re: Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

Ok.  So going into paypal was no help at all.  I couldn't find anywhere to change the funding source, so I thought I would buy something small I was looking at on ebay, and when it came to pay by paypal this is where it let me change my funding source.  All done and I can be a happy buyer once more.  Cheers.

Re: Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

perhaps someone will come along with a more helpful answer, but I have noticed that the payment defaults to the bank account, and I have to be very vigiliant to choose the option in paypal payment page lower down to fund by credit card.

Re: Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

If you have more than one funding source on paypal it will always default to your bank account (it saves paypal money).   There should be a link to Change the source.  Click on the link and then use the drop down box which lists all your funding sources and make your choice.

Re: Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

My savings account was only set up in there so if I ever sold anything on ebay I could transfer the money to my savings account.  It has only been in the last month or so (about two to three of my transactions) that I noticed it was being paid out of my savings and not my credit card.  This doesn't help me if I want to make a larger purchase and would prefer to use my credit card.  It must be a relatively new thing for paypal to start using peoples savings accounts, but if I can't find a way to work it out, unfortunately I won't be able to buy anything any more.  I'll try your suggestion and see how I go.  Cheers.

Re: Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

I don't understand your comment that I was no help at all????   Then you say that you were able to change the funding source when you paid.   Where else did you think you could change the funding source for each individual payment?  You are in your paypal account when it gets to that stage.

BTW you can go to your paypal account and make your credit card your Primary method of payment but it will still default to your bank account when you go through checkout....it has been that way for a long time....it is not a recent change.

Re: Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

Sorry, I didn't mean that you were no help, I meant that paypal were no help.  For years, it had always been my credit card that had been the primary fund, but for some reason it is now my savings unless I change it when I go to pay for an item, I don't understand why this change has come about.  I tried going into paypal to find where I could change it permanently, but I can't find it, so I sent a question to paypal, and they were no help either.  It's all sorted now, I just have to remember to change the payment source every time I make a payment.  Thanks.

Re: Funding Pay Pal With Credit Card

My Debit card is my Primary payment method but it still defaults to my bank account (smae account) every time I go to pay.  I just change it.

It has been this way for a long time, so not just recently.
