GSP item but seller agreed to post regular

So after the last GSP fiasco I've been very particular about only shopping with non GSP sellers.

Item I wanted that was GSP and having purchased similar items I knew the GSP shipping was at least double the regular rate. Asked the seller who agreed to post for that regular rate. So I did buy now. eBay came straight up with all this GSP **bleep** and that I've agreed to their terms and has no other option for post. There's no option to request an invoice from the seller and every time I view it's asking for immediate payment. Can the seller override this because there seems to be no option for me to do so.

To opt out of the GSP,  US sellers only have to go into

account > site preferences > shipping preferences > Offer the Global Shipping Program > edit > no

The seller has to opt out of the GSP before you buy.

Once you buy a listing that has the GSP on it you are locked into that postage method.

I believe the only way out now is for the seller to cancel the transaction and relist with USPS postage instead of the GSP.

Lyndal's right if you've committed to buy.   Seller has to cancel the transaction.

Maybe you should make a note of the steps I gave, to communicate with sellers

in the future to see if they're willing to opt out first.

I sent them a request for an invoice earlier but guessing because of time zone they won't have seen it. Presumably they will realise they can't change and agree to that solution.

Sad that GSP can get away with charging $30 us for an item size I know to cost $13 us to post.

My last GSP purchases from different sellers (which are my last as I don't plan to go there again) were sent a week and a half apart yet arrived on the same day. One went via 20 places to get here.

Not going to adversely effect the seller or their stats cancelling will it?

I've had the same before where they have set postage and can't change so I've paid and seller has done a part refund but that's no good with GSP.
