How wrong you are!! I accept the GST because we have been paying it for 18 years now. Even before that I shopped around for the best prices....nothing at all to do with my lifestyle, which is nothing at all like you envision.
I live in a 60+ year old house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a study/sewing room. No pool, no beer fridge (we don't drink beer) only one vehicle which is used for business (I don't drive) and certainly not a 120" TV.
