Global Shipping Program status says delivered in Erlanger, KY?

Recently I bought an item from a seller in the US, paid for the item to be delivered to Australia via the Global Shipping Program. I was given a tracking number, which showed the progress of the delivery. However the progress changed from In Transit to Delivered in Erlanger, KY. I understand that with the GSP the seller posts the item to Pitney Bowes Inc. in Erlanger and they re-package it and send it to Australia. However, is it odd that the status says delivered? Will the tracking get updated with the new international tracking number and change back to in transit again? I've never used this service before and I'm a bit apprehensive. I've contacted the seller but they're as much clueless as me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, same things happened to me.Guitar from US to Australia.The tracking has marked the guitar as arrived and delivered to my home address,but it has disappesred into the ether.Given the poor state of the tracking "Information", it is untraceable from my end. E-Bay?As the delivery is ticked as done ,it`s a done deal as far as they are concerned,and they hope "this doesn`t stop me from dealing with them in the future"...

I hate to say this, but there have been reports on these boards in the past that the GSP (Pitney Bowes) has "confiscated" guitars, and then relisting on their own eBay account in the US.

You may have a fight on your hands to either get the guitar or your money back.

I am always charged tax and duty from all items to Uk over about £40 at 20% ridiculous as these are non commercial items and privately bought as gifts why on earth do we have to pay commercial fees on them??? And for such small items

You are in the UK and the import threshhold is very low.

As the importer you have to abide by your Customs limits no matter what the items are intended for.

If you don't like the fees you can buy locally and will not have to pay them.

Need help.
I bought two items on ebay and made payment for the two items together, including shipping and fees. Packages were shipped via UPS to the address ERLANGER, KY, US. Each package has its UPS number tracking 1Z732R230397155166 (package weight 12 lb)
AND UPS number tracking 1Z732R230399564783 (package weight 7 lb). Confirmed with UPS the two packages were delivered. However Global Shipping sent to Brazil only 1 package (UPS 1Z732R230397155166 weight 11.1 lb) and marked on ebay the two packages with the same number UPBEE00162F4A1432A60, that the corresponding one in the DHL is 3232813021. I did not receive two packages only one as it can be verified in the site Of DHL. The package has gone missing in Gobal Shipping, I need help locating it. If anyone can help me, I appreciate it. I do not speak English to contact the company directly. Maybe Global Shipping sent the package to Brazil, but I need the tracking number at DHL. They made a mistake by updating the items on ebay with the same tracking number.

There was no problem on the part of the seller, the item was posted and delivered to the Global Shipping address, but the package inside ebay disappeared, because it was updated with a package number, and in fact it should have 2 different numbers.

You have a very good translator! If you can't speak on the phone because of language problems, try emailing DHL from their website. I have had positive results contacting shipping companies via email. There is probably a contact section on their site. Write what you want to in the translator, then add it like you have done here. If you use Google Chrome for your web browser, you should be able to translate the page to your native langage. Sometimes it will translate the page automatically.

I have just ordered my 3rd item on the ebay GSP and never an issue, there is small delay in Erlanger whilst reprocessed before the next leg of the journey to Aus.  In three cases the shipping information was updated with a delay of 24 hrs. I don't want to be seen as glossing problems over however with my items that were over the 1000$ it's great to have GST and duties paid without having to worry about more expense and hassle before it gets to your door and cheaper than ship2u.au for example. Pitney Bowes is a very old company that starting out in postage franking machines to expedite mail many decades ago. It adds a bit of time no more than few days however removes the headaches of clearing them here in Aust.  Common sense required when ordering anything remotely resembling restricted items like knives, cutters and so on, that goes without saying.

I'm sorry but you really are simplifying things too much.

There is no denying that many, many transactions sail through the GSP without a problem but when there is a problem it is of mammoth proportions and very difficult to rectify.

There are many instances reported on the boards of Pitney Bowes refusing to ship items when there is no justification at all for it.

Knives are just on of the problematic items.....there are a few types of knives that cannot be imported to Australia but they are in the minority.  Kitchen knives and table ware are not restricted at all but Pitney Bowes has a blanket ban on all knives.

There is also a problem with musical instruments.

Are you aware that Pitney Bowes run their own ebay shop and sell the items that have been confiscated rather than return them to the seller?

I lost complete confidence in Ebay because of that **bleep** Global Shipping Program. Why is Fedex using the word "Delivered" when my package arrives at the Erlanger Global Shipping Center and will be prepared for shipment abroad ? Delivered for me means : "has reached final destination". They have to change that word in "Arrived in Global Shipping Center - Erlanger - KY and in preparation for shipping abroad". I accused the Ebay-seller of fraude, Pitney & Bowes of complete incompetence in the field of shipping and Fedex of "how I get my drivers and trucks rolling , it doesn"t matter where we are going with the load" !!!! So kissed Ebay"s ass and I"m an Amazon buyer now. Ebay for me is history !!!!
