I used to know how to drive a ruler. Come to think of it, I think I still can!

I had the use of my Father's at the time and it is still out in the garage among all the tools I inherited.

I would get you to give it to me, if I thought I could remember how it worked.

A calculator is cheaper and a lot easier to use.
Dad was a Designing Electrical Engineer....he was one of the designers on the Snowy Mountains Scheme. I remember walking through the tunnels before the water was turned on.....I was less than impressed at the time as it was a hot day and I wanted to be anywhere but underground in a huge tunnel.
In hindsight it was pretty impressive and definitely a part of our history.

Lyndal- that was one of the greatest schemes ever in Australia... What a family history you have! You will have to write a book! Ros

I am sure I could not add anything more to the information that has already been written about the Snowy Scheme....I was a kid at the time....probably on 7 or 8 and as far as I was concerned Dad was just doing his job.
He was one of several designing engineers who worked for the NSW Electrical authority under several different names...they were involved in the building of a number of power stations at the time I was growing up. I remember Vales Point in particular because he used to go away for 2 or 3 days at a time to inspect the ongoing work.

I used to catch some awesome fish at Vales Point power station. There was an area where the water was really warm and the bream used to flock there. It was weird getting them out of the water and they felt hot!

Nope, it's a thread on a forum about the Groupon voucher, that I'm pretty sure are not available any more.
