Besides my package travelling to Denmark first before coming to Australia from America no. Just took a long time to get here. I try to avoid any sellers using the global shipping program now.

parcel sent to me on the 26th of November and still a no show. Cannot even begin to detail the amount of phone calls, emails etc I have made to seller, Fedex and Australia Post, who by the way claim that despite having a tracking number, Aust. Post are sometimes too busy to swipe the barcode so the parcel is actually traceable. Have filed a dispute and escalated the claim to paypal, which is also taking it's time. Seller says he cannot be responsible for loss of parcel half way around the world, however the post say he is actually responsible for the delivery of the parcel and it is his responsibility to chase up a lost parcel and not mine. He is also supposed to put in a complaint so an invetigation can begin as to the parcels whereabout., I have asked him to do this and have also explained to paypal that he needs to do this but have no idea as to whether or not it has been done. Feeling like I may be kissing several hundred dollars and my metal detector goodbye.

the seller will need to provide a tracking number and proof of lodgement (ie does the tracking number show up anywhere on the supply chain to indicate that he did hand it over?) and in some cases (I am fuzzy on this bit, but I think for US sellers, they also have to prove delivery, whereas in Australia within Australia, we don't)
If he does, then the seller will not be held responsible through PayPal.
Your answer indicates that the item has indeed hit Australia Post and it is they that lost it. The seller can't help what Aust Post does. He has fulfilled his end of the bargain.
It's tricky, cos for him to chase up Aus Post, it will mean international calls, I would suspect? Unless it's a Pitney Bowes thing.
either way, it's a time consuming process.
No one makes it easy, eh?
I hiopwe things work out for you, but I don't think that PayPal can force the seller to pursue the postal service beyiond the lodgement etc. I wiould think the only thing that may oprompt his action is if he does have to show delivery, in which case he will have to, or the case will be found in your favour.
Under your buyer protection, if the tracking shows the item has not been delivered to you, I think PayPal may make a discressionary payment to you? Have you asked?

It is a Pitney Bowes thing, not sure why the tracking number has changed three times during transit. Every number shows a different thing, one says the parcel has been delivered to me, another one shows it is still in transit, another shows it has been delivered to my town, but when questioning the company with this information, she explained that it meant the parcel was deliverd to Australia Post in Sydney not my town? can't quite figure it out. extremely frustrating! People don't seem to really want to help, and why should they, it's not their money they are losing

No I have not experienced any problems as I don't buy from sellers who insist on using the service.
