Unfortunately since you paid with a bank deposit, you do not have any recourse except the seller.
you can go to the eBay resolution centre and report non-receipt, but they cannot get the money back for you. But then they will know you did not get it.
you can also leave appropriate feedback up to 60 days.
wait a little longer to see if you get it before doing that ๐

Hi i have been having lots of issues with Australia post lately. It took 1 week for an item to get to Sydney and normally if i post before 4 pm it is delivered next day. I have been waiting on an item from SA it was posted last thursday and still remains 'in transit' according to Aus post.

A bit different to an item paid with bank deposit for which no tracking number has (presumably) been provided.
missbellybean - open a Paypal account and use it whenever you are buying from any seller you haven't dealt with repeatedly in the past. Unfortunately some sellers seem to think bank deposit is a gift.

I have been looking through the forum to see if anyone else has had the same problem. Pay by bank deposit and then not get the item and not be responded to from the seller.
I too have ordered again from the same seller the following week not realising that the other item(s) even though marked as posted would never arrive but the 2nd order arrived with no dramas. The first purchase is still to arrive. Constant contact renders no response. I think this is tantamount to fraud to take someone's money for goods and then not forward them and have no recourse because it was not a paypal transaction.
I hope this is the first and last experience with this kind of thing or I will never use Ebay again. I am not a charity and do not give my money away freely.

You have just admitted that you do.
eBay do not warrant sellers.
If you pay by bank deposit you rely on the seller's honesty. Full stop. eBay buyer protection requires payment through Paypal. Or Paymate or a merchant credit card account, but those ones require the buyer to initiate.
You can try the online fraud website. I have no idea of the URL It is QLD police, but handles all online fraud.
If you buy from other sites and pay with bank deposit, then I'm fairly sure you will get the same results as here - scammers are everywhere. DO NOT EVER pay somebody you don't know using bank deposit. It is a free gift if they choose to take it that way.

davewil 1964 thanks for your input. As you can see by my feedback total I have been an ebayer for some time now and choose to use both paypal and bank deposit. Having said that I have never had this happen before and as I said I will not allow it to happen again. I have been both a buyer and seller and have always conducted my transactions from both sides of the fence with integrity. I am highly offended that there is a system out there that allows opportunists to avail themselves of other peoples money, especially through a site such as ebay. The majority of traders out there are extremely honest and very helpful. I am aware of the fact that there are scammers out there but am disappointed that it has only happened to me in my own country. I have travelled the world and have always come home with wallet and faith in tact. Fool me once shame on you - fool me twice shame on me. Love Jim Croce, he's my vintage.
