Re: Hi, I bought an item on the 5th Dec 2018. I gave the seller the wrong home address..

@gcmart_1946,

Note: you're not contacting eBay by posting on these boards. They are public forums on which any eBay member can post, and the responders are, like you, fellow eBay members who give voluntary helpful advice and information. (The standard of help is usually well above the type of cut-and-paste help provided by eBay customer service.)

As kopenhagen says, you can find your purchase history by changing the default period in the drop-down box.

Once you've found that transaction, you can see options to contact your seller.

You should keep in mind that if you had the wrong home address showing when you purchased the item, the seller must send to that address in order to maintain their seller protection.

Was it this item? (Sold on 5 December) That shows that the seller was going to send it through the Global Shipping Program, which means the seller could absolutely not change the delivery address. Under the terms of the GSP, incorrect delivery address (if the item isn't able to be delivered) means that the item is sent back to the US; Pitney Bowes (the logistics company who work with eBay to provide the GSP) will deem it "undeliverable" and keep the item. In the spoiler below, I'll quote the whole paragraph that is relevant, from the eBay.com.au Global Shipping Program: Buyer Terms & Conditions. It's paragraph 11.

Spoiler
Lost, Damaged, or Undeliverable Items; Valid Delivery Address Required. If a GSP Item that you purchase is not delivered to the delivery address specified by you or to the collection center near you that is designated by the shipping carrier, it is damaged, or it does not match your Seller's description, your purchase may be covered by the PayPal Purchase Protection program. More information about PayPal Purchase Protection may be found here. The delivery address that you specify must be within an eligible country and must be a valid and complete delivery address. The delivery address that you specify may not be a Post Office (P.O. Box), Army Post Office, or Fleet Post Office. eBay and Pitney Bowes shall have no liability and shall have, in their discretion and in any manner that they prefer, the right to dispose of or liquidate GSP Items that eBay or Pitney Bowes conclude are undeliverable, for whatever reason. If eBay or Pitney Bowes conclude that a GSP Item is undeliverable and elect to dispose of or liquidate a GSP Item, title to the GSP Item shall transfer automatically from your Seller to eBay and/or any third party designated by either eBay or Pitney Bowes (as eBay and Pitney Bowes may elect), at no cost and for no consideration to either eBay or Pitney Bowes and/or to any third party designated by eBay or Pitney Bowes, and eBay and Pitney Bowes and/or any third party designated by eBay or Pitney Bowes shall retain all proceeds (if any) received from the disposal or liquidation of the GSP Item. eBay or Pitney Bowes may also elect to return to your Seller any GSP Items that eBay or Pitney Bowes conclude are undeliverable. eBay shall not be responsible under the PayPal Purchase Protection policies if eBay concludes that a GSP Item is not deliverable to your designated delivery address or to the collection center near you that is designated by the shipping carrier, for any reason, including because the delivery address that you provide is incorrect, incomplete, or inaccessible. In addition, certain third party shipping carriers may require that the designated recipient of a GSP Item be present to receive delivery; where in-person delivery is required, you shall be solely responsible for ensuring that the designated recipient is available to receive delivery.

Specifically for your case: โeBay shall not be responsible under the PayPal Purchase Protection policies if eBay concludes that a GSP Item is not deliverable to your designated delivery address or to the collection center near you that is designated by the shipping carrier, for any reason, including because the delivery address that you provide is incorrect...โž

Really, the only thing you can do is check the tracking number for your order (which you should see once you select 2018 from the drop-down box in your purchase history, as described by kopenhagen), and HOPE that the parcel is still in transit, and then contact (somehow) whoever lives at the address that  you gave, asking them to accept the item when it arrives, and then your collecting it from that address.

Once you know the status of your order, you may want to contact eBay via their "Have us call you" option - which is by far the best way to get in touch with eBay. (Emails are useless, for a number of reasons, but primarily because the responses, when they are finally sent, are bot-generated.)

eBay say: We'll call you at the phone number registered to your account, or you can enter a different number.

Weโ€™re available from 8am to 10pm AET, 7 days a week.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope that you can manage to grab the item before it's sent back to the US. You should note that the seller will not give you a refund, because the seller doesn't get back the item. (PB keeps it.) Hopefully your future purposes will be smoother, and you may want to always double-check the delivery address when you are at the checkout process, before you press the OK.

Not eBay here, only other members.

Go to purchase history and change the drop down menu at the top from last 60 days to 2018.

You can then find your purchase and the seller.

If you gave the seller an incorrect address way back in December I am not sure why you want to contact the seller now.

You can hardly expect a refund....it would have cost the seller to post the item to whatever address you gave them.

Have you tried to contact the people at the wrong address on the off chance that they still have the parcel?

It doesn't matter what it was.....if it was not the address that would get the item to you then it was wrong.  There is nothing the seller can do after all this time.

The GSP (if that is the way it was sent) does take a while but the seller cannot change the address after it has been sent.  That would have been within a few days of you paying for the item.
