Hi,has any members had problems with the Global Shipping program. It would seem that another party has been added just to double our chances of a mistake. The contract is between buyer and seller on the ebay site and it is hard enough to recieve an item without damage and in a reasonable time without it being duplicated in the shipping process.Unable to contact the global Shipping Co so where do we get any help.

4channel, why not organise a US mailing address for the items you love to collect? Get a few of them over a month or two, and then have them posted in one lot to you.
I would certainly avoid using the GSP for anything other than a large bulky item, and even then I'd be comparing the postage costs. It could still be more cost-effective from my US mailing address.
There are options for you to explore which could result in your being a happy collector again.

4channel has commented on this suggestion on another thread:
https://community.ebay.com.au/t5/Buying/BEWARE-Global-shipping-program/m-p/2080729#M81791
That was in response to a post that made the same suggestion to another poster.
Here’s the crux of his reply on that thread:
You said: ....... "Also, collectors of items normally have contacts all over the world, and they are normally open to helping each other out in building their collections."
"Do you know someone who resides in the USA who could receive posters from USA sellers on your behalf? If you do, and they will, you could save a lot of money by having them wait until you have had a few posters sent to them and have them rolled up and posted in a single sturdy mailing tube."
Good in theory but never practical when chasing rare items. Also what you suggest can take ages and ages to do.
Global Shipping / Pitney Bowes has crippled the enjoyment of collectors as well as the liveleyhoood of resellers of collectable items.
Yes, I know people who buy on ebay and then re-sell with a more exciting looking acution and make profit on their outlay. Global Shipping destroys that.

Thanks for the suggestion countessalmirena, I did attempt that a couiple of other times. Not for finding a way around GST. One was for a seller who's price for sending to Aust was way too high and another who didn't know how to do overseas posting and wasn't game to try.
So one of the people I approached wasn't comfortable about accepting delivery from another party and forwarding it to me. I said to this person that I would buy from her and then how about she accept delivery from another seller and lump it all together and send to me. I couldn't get it happening. Other person I contacted was worried about item being damaged in transit due to extra handling. It wasn't fragile.
Still, I may have to just keep searcing for someone willing to help.
Cheers.

Or someone who doesn't use GSP of course. I just got a normal parcel today. It took a week to arrive from Europe, no problems at all.

Yes mariq7 , I feel more comfortable using normal post. Privacey respected as well. With GSP, your buying habits are made available to another party. Somewhere along info gets traded sold.

Yes, I hate that too. They say anyone at the "shopping centre" can inspect parcels. Unbelievable.
But we are obviously not the only ones who think PB is a scam.
