There is no need to contact ebay when you get the wrong item.
Open a dispute for Item Not As Described and get a refund.
If it is within the time, use the ebay Money Back Guarantee as the seller will have to pay the return postage if he wants the item back.
If it is too late for an ebay dispute open a paypal dispute....you have 6 months for that.
If you opt in to the paypal return postage offer they should cover you postage to return the item.

It has to stand up in court so it needs to be as thick as a brick.

I generally waffle on over explaining thiings and repeating myself repeatedly (you have to when you use the email option), but I've never come close to using all the characters! It would have made for an interesting read.
While I've always had success using the messaging system (repeating yourself repeatedly helps), I certainly don't advocate that as a way of solving issues. I generally try, to see what happens, to get the ball rolling, fully expecting to have to ring them, but so far so good.

Seing that ebay, is not willing to bring the seller, to comply with Australian way of doing business, i seem to have no other option than to take seller to Court.
I have attempted to contact ebay, regarding this balls-up by the seller, but ebay has refused to reply to any of my mail to them regarding this issue.
The fridge in question had a design fault, that permtted evapuration water to enter controll box, which at length short cicuited and redered fridge unusable.
Seller sent a second hand controller that did not work on my fridge, refusing to send correct controller, with self addressed returne package, for me to send back, the second hand incorrect controll box, insisting for me to send the incorrect controll box to him-her, as I had notised unreliebity in the emails, seller had sent me, from the very beginning, not trusting seller, I will not send his-her secondhand box back, nor should I.
The manufacturer should send me a brand new fridge, seeng that their agent here in Australia is unwilling to corret the manufaturers fault.
I included numerous emails, sent between seller and me, to explain the situation, no book intended!!
