How long should it take seller to refund

I have a sticky situation. There were a pair of shoes I really wanted so I emailed the seller and asked her if she would accept payment in three parts. She happily agreed. I made two $50 payments and then because I was excited I went to have another look at them, but they weren't in my purchases. I eventually found them and saw photos of the heels that weren't visible before. The heels were a mess. I don't know if it's because I was on my iPad when. I first look at them. I also saw (which I didn't before) a note saying that they offer no questions asked refunds. So after swing the heels were a mess I decided I would ask for a refund of the $100 that I have already paid. The seller (3 days later) sent me photos of the heels looking normal - no scratches! I still wanted a refund and asked nicely. Why were the shoes not in my purchases? My sister told me it is because she cancelled the sale , and sold to me instead, meaning she has breached ebay policy. What should I do now and how long should I wait before asking ebay for help?

Saying something about the differences in the heels, they looked like two completely different heels!

Re: How long should it take seller to refund

report her for dealing off ebay, but apart from that, ebay won't help you, they don't handle disputes and by paying in three installments (well 20 you voided any paypal protection even if you paid that way.

if you did, you could try an INR as the goods havent been received, but this would depend on how the invoice/payment was raised/sent

so it may be a case of just hoping they either send the shoes or hoping they refund, but i doubt they will. you dont have the shoes yet, so dont know if they are NAD, so at this stage, even th9ough they handled the process wrong (but they were just trying to help you by allowing a lay buy of sorts) you don't have a right to cancel in my books,

She meant 2 installments, not 20.

And she is right, ebay won't help you with this one unfortunately.

Well seller finally emailed me back saying refund will be soon , but she is waiting for funds to clear. I replied, thanking her for her response and asked to be emailed once refund was made.....if it happens I will be thankful, and more wary from now on! Thanks for input peoples.

Re: How long should it take seller to refund

What are you going to do if she doesn't refund? You have no Paypal protection even if you used Paypal because to qualify goods have to be paid for in a single payment and bank deposit has no protection at all.

I would just wait and see because if you start badgering her asking when you are going to get your money she mau just change her mind and refuse to refund.

It is also possible that when you queried the heels, the seller had them refurbished.

I hope you get your refund promptly. If it was an off-eBay transaction, then eBay will not intervene, and they cannot get your money back for you on an eBay sale either. That is why it is best to pay with Paypal in one payment.
