I bought a mimco bag on eBay and used it for a few days and one of the handles became unstitched

I don't even think it is an authentic mimco bag but an imitation. Seller is not interested in helping me and claims it was new. Not sure if I can do anything about this. I'm not happy as I paid $115 for it and it broke!!

I reckon it's a lesson for us all. Stop buying overpriced "designer" items, as even if they are genuine they are not worth the price you pay for them. I once worked for a drycleaning company, and there were certain big clothing brands that regularly fell apart during cleaning.

If you really search through ebay, or op shops, you can find some wonderful clothes and accessories for very little, that look great and stylish. Money does not necessarily equate with style. I don't buy big brand names on principal. I get compliments all the time, and my outfit might have cost a total of $30.

A lesson for us all????

How rude of you, I learnt no lesson because I don't need to learn any lessons from this thread, I don't buy Mimco through ebay. Many genuine items are well worth the money I have paid for them. If I wish to waste my money of over priced designer bags, shoes etc, then so be it. I will queue up down at mimco's Bondi Junction store after Christmas and elbow the best of them out of my way as I reach over the bodies crumbling to the floor because of their impractical footwear (platform stilettos will get you nowhere in a sale rush).

I will then go to the Georg Jensen shop to add a few favourites to my tableware collection and so on.

Actually, China has authentic Mimco bags for sale too because the Mimco factory is in China. They generally sell excess stock or defective stock.

Doesnโ€™t always work taking it to the store. I have tested the sales girls there by taking a genuine bag in bought at DJs. I told them I thought it was fake and they agreed

Please look at the dates on threads before answering them.  Putney32 has not been a poster on the boards for more than 2 years so you anecdote will not be seen by her.

You can do plenty contact paypal
They will reimburse you if its not Authentic
I bought a purse off ebay a mimco when I recieved it
It did not look like the first 1 I bought direct from mimco
I asked the seller on ebay are they Authentic
She said yes but I did not think you can buy Authentic Mimco in the amount they have for sale as Authentic

I very much doubt that the OP contacting Paypal SEVEN years after the fact will result in any resolution.

If the price is too good to be true, guess what?

Why would you consider asking a seller if the item they advertised as authentic was authentic would result in any answer other than 'yes'?

Maybe if you asked in right way, like "is this truly-ruly authentic, honestly?", or, "mate, is she ridgy-didge for real?"

Better still, ask for the seller's commitment to a "cross my heart, hope to die, stick-a-needle-in-my-eye" clause as a term of sale. Not many would risk a needled eye just to make a sale.
