I know this was 3 weeks ago but wanted to comment anyway just to let buyers know that if a purchase hasn't been made and they message saying they want to pick up and ask for contact details or address, if the message isn't intercepted and removed by Ebay, the seller may not reply anyway. I recently had a message to that effect, and chose not to reply partly because I don't want to be seen to be trading off Ebay but also because the buyer shouldn't be asking that having not made a purchase.
However is there a possibility your purchase never registered even though you thought you'd purchased? Was it showing on your purchases list and if so did the seller cancel the transaction or did you ever hear from them?
My buyer hadn't tried to purchase because they were asking me if I would agree to pickup so different scenario
