I instigated a complaint against a seller and then cancelled it as the seller had said they reposted

I instigated a complaint against a seller and then cancelled it as the seller had said they reposted the iten when in fact they have not and have no intention of replacing/reposting or refunding.

Now I cannot for the life of me find anywhere to re open the case or to contact ebay. They make it soooooo hard to contact and resolve problems.

You cannot re-open a case once you choose to close it

Which is why you never close a case until you are happy with the outcome, no matter 'what the seller says'

eBay help is at the top of every page to contact them

If you pay via PayPal, you could try opening a dispute there

And follow through with it

I can't for the life of me understand why you closed the case before receiving the promised re-post item.

Did the seller say that they would repost it but that you have to close the case? It is a well-known trick to say that they cannot repost or refund if a case is open, and of course it is not true.

No, you cannot reopen a closed case, that's why scammers will try to convince buyers to close a case and then they won't do what they promised. They know very well that closed cases cannot be reopened.

Or if you closed the case because you just thought the problem had been solved and the seller didn't ask you, please be more cautious in the future and don't close a case until you have a refund in the bank or the item in your hands.

PayPal is your only option at this stage, or maybe a bank chargeback.

@riskyriskydave,

in addition to never closing a case before itโ€™s satisfactorily resolved (in ACTUALITY, not merely in promise), I suggest that you think of the resending option as something youโ€™d only consider if the seller is able to be chased up later in the event of a problem, and if the seller is an authorised seller where a rare problem has arisen.

If an overseas seller were to offer a resend, Iโ€™d be saying โ€œNo thank you; please refund me and then I can repurchase if need be.โ€

You - actually made your own problem - by closing an open - unsorted - case.
