I purchased a shoddy USB stick from a trusted ebay vendor...what next

I escalated the issue to EBAY who in turn allowed the vendor to get away with the rip-off...no more EBAY for me or for any of my friends...you stink EBAY

Ebay don't care if people leave, there are always more people to take their place

Did you lodge a dispute within the timeframe? Under eBay's money back guarantee? Did you lodge a not as described with PayPal within the timeframe? Did you leave appropriate feedback for the seller?

Yes...did all of that. All Ebay is concerned with is ripping off plebs because they know they can't afford to take it any further!

Yes...have told Ebay all about it and complained to the vendor...all to no result...what a sham the whole process is...should never trust anyone who says "trust me".

Which makes me wonder if you actually opened a case for INAD at all.

Or whether you just complained to ebay

Telling us the whole story of why the vendor is a ripp-off and why ebay stinks will help us understand.

With no background whatsoever any advice/opinion/etc offered is all useless.
