I seem to remember that eBay once had a service where you could list items that you wanted (desperately) to buy if anybody has them.

Any pointers regarding this would be appreciated.

The want it section was discontinued many years ago.

You can save a search and be notified if someone lists one.

It's been said that the function was withdrawn because members were getting spammed by sellers who were trying to sell unrelated items to them, and phishing for their details.
