V Series Sling Shot on eBay?
Why is eBay promoting/listing and selling potentially deadly and environmentally irresponsible items?
I am an avid eBay user and supportor, but I am very disspaointed that eBay has chosen to promoite on their home page such a potentially dangerous item. Please explain WHY eBay thionk this item is worthy of being listed.

That may be listed on the US or UK sites where they are legal to own, but they won't be found on the Australian site being sold by Australian sellers.
The ones that are there are from Chinese registered sellers who can get away with nearly anything with apparent impunity.........

If you search any of the overseas ebay sites you will find plenty of listings for items not legal or available in Australia.
You can hardly blame ebay.au for what is listed on other sites.
I have done a deliberate search for that item and it is not showing up for me at all, even on the US site.

They're there lyndal, but the ones like the OP was talking about are from Chinese registered sellers.

How are they environmentally irresponsible?
Surely you're not suggesting that we should let Australia be overrun by Goliaths?

Slingshots are mainly used to shoot at small animals and birds and they'll use any ammunition available,(mainly
small metal balls but stones, metal nuts, bolts and other items are also used).
Some of the current ones that are manufactured are capable of killing a human due to the force that's applied
to the projectile,

So if you don't use plastic projectiles, they can't be environmentally damaging.
The projectiles will decompose (or become part of the environment in the case of rocks), as will the bodies of the deceased.
The issue I, and many others apparently, have with the OP is the use of hyperbole and unsupportable tenets in order to progress their argument. Whereas a simple statement of relevant facts would be more useful.
Not to me - the OP's name must be Don Quixote de la Mancha.

Wrong both times,(David used a sling,not a sling shot),

The "sling" is generally made from rubber tubbing or straps with a leather type pouch and botht would take a long
time to decompose,(that what the op wouldv'e meant by being damaging to the environment ).
They are basically "throw away" items for quick and easy replacement if any snap,
