I paid for item by direct debit, seller was very pushy bout instant payment. Had to be NOW. Sent copy of receipt via text message to his phone. Found seller very evasive, rude, arrogant wen i asked too many question about the item for sale after i had paid. Got my item in box, some of the contents he gave me, 2 pieces of contents were not there in the box. Questioned y give me some but not the rest. Wasnt logical or rational. Every question i asked was met with, how is that relevant, or, im within ebay guidelines, or how do u know i have those extra contents. Kept my cool through all of it. Was really hard to hav a proper conversation. This has never happened to me b4. All sellers i have met on ebay have been respectful towards me. This was nothing like respectful, the complete opposite. Was not used to this type of wat ever u call it dialog with a seller. Was a bit concerned about the manipulation i was getting involved in. It was not normal, far from it. I found there was something wrong, i became concerned the way the seller was acting. I found a very dark personality, almost twisted. I was answering his questions, but after the last, how is that relevant, i decided this game was over and asked if he was ok. His response, r u a retard? I looked at wat i was reading, then, after a pause, i wrote, no, yr not ok. Wat he text back to me was shocking, i was stunned. His reply, So would you just "F" off d-umb "C". Hav all proof on my phone, not going to upload a picture of it. Im still in shock. To make matters worse, he is not telling ebay i have paid for the item. So ebay think i havnt paid, wen i have. Told customer support to look at all my sent messages. Photos of receipt from bank i sent to him. Have reported him, have reported i have paid for item. Question, is seller violating any ebay policies by not telling ebay i have paid for item. Coz if he is, i can notify him of that. I have already asked him to tell ebay, but, its not happening, if he is violating any rulles by not notifying them, i can tell him that, and maybe he will tell ebay. Would appreciate all responses

Hi buyingandsellingmandy…, , sorry to hear of all of the hassle you went though. Hopefully this will be the last of it.
And just to let you know, you have not done anything wrong here and no need for the apologies. This is meant to be a forum where people can get support in other ways as well. A bit of encouragement does no harm. We see many people inexperienced in dealing with probem sellers.
I just hope that you can get better buys in the future and research on feedback always helps. it's obvious that this seller is one of those who is not good to deal with and when an issue arises they don't care.
You are very polite too. Some folks could take a leaf from your book.
Best wishes.

I am relieved. I found customer support email address.
If any one needs help proving a sale, or anything, this is ebays email address.
customerhelp_au@ebay.com
The email address is not hard to find but as we all know it is useless. The replies are bot driven and rarely answer the question.
You will get a notification back that your email has been received.
And that is about all you will get that will make any sense.
I also sent a notice to Customer Support to view the email.
Again, you are expecting something that you will not get.
Everyone write it down in their little black book, because you might need it one day.
No need.....anyone who asks here will be told that email is not a satisfactory method of contacting ebay.
Thanks to those that understood how frustrating this has been since the 3rd December.
Tonight i looked in my messages, and there, another message, the item has been cancelled and u owe $220.
I cant understand it, ive lost track how many report a seller i did.
Sorry i was so angry on this site.
I was going thru, the angry stage, it happens after being so upset and frustrated for so long.
Now, i really really hope, i can get some sleep tonight.
I feel like binging on chocolate.
Ive done all i can, and i think that email will do it.
Very doubtful.
Its been an experience i never, ever want to go thru again.
If you continue to use bank deposit it could well happen again.
You feel alone in yr fight to prove yourself, to save yr reputation as an honest seller and buyer.
Never ever want this to happen again.
Ebay needs to make changes on their site. For the ones that do fall into that trap.
I have done direct debit b4 on a few items, probably bout 7 items, guess i was lucky those times.
The sellers were great, so this time, wow.
I just got bitten the first time.
And the last.

The Lens Cap and USB Cable that you say were missing are not included in the listing or photographs.
You actually got what you paid for.
The Seller would not have sent you the Camera if he had not received your money
The Seller has opened the case to get his fees back from ebay.
You may get an Unpaid Item Strike which will not affect you Buying or Selling on ebay as long as you do not do it again.
You will hear nothing back from ebay - going to the Police is overkill - as they won't do anything either.
You have blown this out of proportion primarily because you are not familiar with ebay rules and Policies. They are there for you to read.
Move on for your own sanity.

Having the OP replying to me constantly I feel I should put in my 2 cents worth.
I agree absolutely with every word that pancaket52 has said.
I don't know why the OP was so upset about not having a lens cap and usb cord included when it wasn't in the listing. Easy enough to buy replacements.
They are not out of pocket - they got the camera for the price advertised. I don't know what more they want.
I don't know what the police or anyone else is supposed to do about a sale that went how it should.
Any wonder the seller is ticked off.
OP - take note - ebay will not take monies out of your account if that is your worry.
Having an unpaid item strike is not the end of the world - or indeed being able to buy on ebay.
Please, please get over it and stop giving yourself a nervous breakdown over this.

@buyingandsellingmandy wrote:I have asked ebay to look at all my sent messages.
In there r photos of his text message and my bank receipt serviced and sent by osko.
There is photos of the abuse, in my sent box, photos of my receipt.
The manipulation he put me under because i asked too many questions.
I have done every single thing i can think of to prove i have paid.
I never hear back from ebay.
I wait and i wait, wondering what is going to happen.
What happens next to me, and i really dont want to know.
I think this experience has turned me off ebay for good.
I should take down all the things im selling, close my account and get out.
This experience will linger in my mind for a long time, i think.
Ive just had enuf.
There are a few aspects to this.
The first relates to the very first reply I gave you some time back.
I asked were the missing pieces actually mentioned in the ad or photographed in the ad or are they pieces that would normally be present, not an added extra.
From memory, you have said the missing pieces are a lens and a download cord?
Whether those things would be in the box with the camera when originally bought, I do not know.
If they were not in the ad, you can't necessarily assume they would be included. I don't know enough about cameras to say but perhaps the cord would be standard, a special lens, not so sure.
But whatever, the fact is those 2 items were not supplied to you, although you have the camera.
It is not all bad news. Focus on the positive, you have the camera.
Unfortunately, I think you are going to find that the police will say this is a civil matter and I suspect ebay will not help at all.
Sure, you have the receipts, but if the ad shows only a camera and you received only a camera, they won't do anything. They can't issue you a refund as you didn't pay by paypal so can't open any claim. The won't ban the seller if he sent what was in the ad.
I feel for you as you are disappointed but I think all you can do from here on in is make the make the best of a bad situation. Test the camera first and if it is working well, go to a couple of palces, get a quote for a lens and replacement cord. That's going to be your only sure way to get what you need to get your business up & running.

Springy, it is a lens cap and a download cable.....a few $$$ at worst.
18-12-2020 06:41 PM - edited 18-12-2020 06:42 PM
Ah, a lens cap. I didn't read back so I was thinking a special lens and I know they can be expensive.
A lens cap I would have thought would be standard equipment with a camera & should have come with the purchase so it sounds to me as if it has been misplaced but as you say, that would be much cheaper to replace than a special lens. I think that is what i would do as from what I have read, this is causing the OP a lot of stress and sometimes in life it is better to cut one's losses.
The main thing is the OP has the camera, that is the good news. Hopefully it will be a good quality camera and once they get the lens cap and cable elsewhere they can put this behind them and enjoy life.

Now i have heard everything, people actually fake bank receipts.
Goodness me, ive never heard of that b4.
Wow. Unbelievable.
I dont even know how thats possible.
What if you asked your Merchant Banker to ring Ebay, they probably think thats fake to?
U just cant win.
All this stuff im hearing, im just gobsmacked. My goodness, how do people get away with this.
Im hearing some really bad stuff on this site.
I never knew things this happen.
I feel like a babe in the woods.
Im never ever paying direct debit again. Ive never heard of things like this.
Sounds like Ebay have got big problems on their hands.
You know what, ive done all i can. Im not doing anymore, or worrying bout it anymore.
Ive got 100% satisfaction on my site, well it was last time i looked.
Unless someone has gone in and changed tween the 3rd December till now.
Who knows these days, after wat happened.
I always treat my customers with respect, i post the next day, i even drove to someones place to make sure she got her delivery on time.
Never knew so much bad stuff like this happens on Ebay.
Creeps me out actually
on 18-12-2020 09:06 PM
Yes, im not going to bother bout the stuff thats missing.
Im going to get the camera checked next week at Teds Camera store.
Their the only Camera store near me. At Fountain Gate xmas time. Im actually dreading it. Fountain Gate is worse than Chadstone at xmas.
Teds also has the extra stuff i need to buy. Memory card, lens cap and usb cable.
Going to cost a bit to get the Nikon brand, but, i want to. So the camera ends up costing me more than $220 i paid for it.
This seller was strange from the beginning. The way he spoke to me was always evasive, never answering any of my questions.
Even when i asked, wats the best memory card to get, he said, any. He made out he was a photographer. I said, what would u recommend, all sorts. I said, personally what would you buy, watever. I never got a straight answer.
He was grumpy in the start, i sort of laughed it off as a joke, he didnt like that at all. I said to him, your very business like, coz he seemed tense with my questions. Almost rude.
I tried to loosen up the conversation. He may have been a photographer for real, coz he said some things about photography i knew.
If u want amemory card with that, its $20. Hmmm. Said, no thats ok.
But he was super tense, almost angry. Said to him, sounds like u need a holiday, end of year and all that, very run off yr feet.
Didnt go down well that comment. In fact, after that, it started to get worse. Something wasnt right.
Anyway, u live and u learn. Near the end i really noticed he was super angry, something was terribly wrong with him. The anger became so intense with him wen i noticed things were missing from the shipment.
Then, this type of wolf game of manipulation and anger started. Creeps me out just thinking about.
I said, in th end, what is wrong with you, r u ok. That was it for him. Thats wen he cracked, and the anger was now very violent with his words. He said, something nasty to me. I paused, looked at what he wrote, i was really concerned for him. I said, no, yr not ok.
That was it. The words, the worst words you could say to a female. Wow. It was really creepy. Very very angry, like he hated me.
I thought, woow, this is way out of control.
The rest is history. This was way too disturbing for me. Mentally violently disturbing.
I actually thought, this is under the most stress i have ever seen a man in my whole life. I hav never met a man that in my life.
I found out the corporation is in India.
on 18-12-2020 09:07 PM
As said, you appear to have received what you actually ordered. What you thought you were getting was obviously something different.
If you had have used Paypal, then you would have been refunded. After you returned the goods to the seller. If eBay decided that the difference between your expectations and what was actually advertised warranted it.
Im never ever paying direct debit again
Good choice, but it doesn't obviate the above.
