I have an item in my watch list that I am very interested in bidding on but need to know a few things first (measurements - it's an item of clothing).
I contacted the seller and asked my question four days before the listing ended but received no response. A few hours before the end time I again requested the details but again no response (both questions were phrased in a pleasant, friendly manner). There were no bids on the item and the seller relisted.
I again sent the seller a question asking for info but as yet, no response. I don't want to be a nag - if the seller doesn't want to respond then I won't buy - but is there any way to find out if they have actually received the message? It was sent through "contact seller" within the listing.

ambercat, sadly there isn’t any way to know whether or not the seller has received (and read) the message – short of donning a black catsuit, being lowered down into the seller’s house through a skylight, and checking on the computer with seller still hopefully logged in… Backup plan includes waking seller and interrogating them, using feather to tickle the truth from them.
I agree that going ahead with purchasing from a non-responsive seller is probably best avoided.

Some items are relisted automatically if nobody buys or bids - or are they completely new?
Yes, it is annoying when you don't even know if a seller has seen your message. It is the same with emails. If you don't get a reply, you don't know what is going on.
Sadly, however, there is no way to know.
