Item marked as sent, but it hasn't been.

I stopped buying so much on eBay a couple of years ago because of this, and it still seems to be an issue.

I have bought an item on the weekend, and it was immediately marked as sent, tracking number was provided, but the item wasn't posted, just stuck at "Tracking Number Provided"

When I shop on eBay, I often select local stock, because I don't want to wait an extra month or so for items to arrive from China, but it seems that sellers get around this by claiming it is local stock, then generating a tracking number, then waiting for the item to arrive from O/S before fulfilling it.

There is a premium paid for AU stock due to the quicker shipping, so this is a scam.

eBay are no help, even removing negative feedback when this happens.

Do I at least have the option to block a seller that does this from my search results? So I can at least not get scammed by the same seller twice?

Is there anything else I can do? Do I just have to accept this as a part of doing business here? Cause it absolutely sucks, especially when it's kids presents before Christmas.

Ebay chooses to 'mark as sent' after uploading tracking....eg...I could upload tracking at midnight & send the next day, but eBay chooses to mark 'as sent', not the seller.

Check the sellers' f/b to find out what country they're registered in

Ah, the item is shown at "NSW, Australia" but the seller is registered in China.

That being said, I have bough AU stock off overseas registered sellers and had it sent promptly.

I don't mind if a seller handles an item for a couple of days, nobody can be expected to be available at all times but it is annoying when the item gets "handled" for weeks.

That being said, I understand now that label generation makes for the item being marked as 'Sent' when really it is just a label being generated, and that is eBay fault for poor communication with buyers, not the sellers, jeez eBay should change this.

Seems all I can do is stop looking at item location and expected delivery times, and instead visit every seller individually to see if they are actually /registered/ locally?

To block sellers, scroll down to 'more filters' down the bottom on left hand side of search page, and click on Seller.

block sellers2.jpg

Enter the seller's user name, or more than one, with a comma between.

Don't forget to click 'apply' and you won't see these seller's listings in that search again.

You must do the same for different searches.

It would be an idea to look at where sellers are registered anyway

If buyers did care enough to look, far less buyers would be keeping sellers who are bad/dodgy/lie in business

Far quicker to look at the feedback page than it is to just buy from anyone

At least you can make an informed choice that way, rather than having to open a dispute later

And yes 'item location' means very little

The item and the seller could both well be in Australia, that does'nt mean they are a good, honest seller though

I would'nt dream of buying anything without knowing 'who' I am buying from

Thankyou for this, I am assuming, though to do this every time, I have to add it as a saved search or something similar? There isn't a way to just block them forever?

Hi Sandy.

For what it is worth, the seller has good feedback ratings with lots of sales.

It doesn't mean much though if eBay remove negative feedback from buyers when the seller requests it.

Was it 99.5% or above? (as a seller/not including feedback as a buyer)

That is the minimum most here would suggest for a 'high volume' seller

Sorry, yes, you have to save the search.

If you do, then they will be invisible to you forever.

I've had a regular search going for 14 years with 3 blocked sellers.

I check every now and then to see if they're even still selling.

I'm assuming you mean 'local stock' to be in Australia.....no, that Australia default search means that ANY seller who will send to Australia.... (including Aussies)
