Item not as describe

Hey everyone, I recently bought a bundle: (accidentally posted this in the seller section, can't delete it).

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221161760298?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I received it in the mail today and am not happy at all. One of the game cases has no disc. Everything was claimed to be in a great condition. I expected some light wear since it was listed as "good" in the condition but it is way more than than. Both of the official controllers have chips, one of them the case is almost split in half, with the controller basically coming apart. Half of the discs have heavy scratches, just not happy at all.

Is my best bet opening an item not as described case with paypal? And if i ship everything back in a b4 box with click and send is that tracking number enough for paypal to get my refund? Or will I have to purchase insurance to cover the purchase amount?

It sucks that I have to waste money shipping but i know these things can happen on ebay, but yeah is that my best response? Just quite shocked at the condition, and the fact it is missing a game. Is there anything else I can do?

Cheers

Re: Item not as describe

Your first move is to contact the seller and tell them what you are not happy with, bullet point each problem.

If they don't offer a partial refund of enough to satisfy you then open an item not as described dispute with Paypal.

You must be very explicit and do not underplay any of the damage, again bullet point and if something is broken say so, don't say ot may or may not work or anything else that would not be considered significantly not as described.

If the seller offers a refund on return at this stage ask them through paypal for the address to return to, do nmot rely on a message sent to your email or through ebay, it must be through the resolution centre.

If the seller doesn't agree escalate to a claim, that is when Paypal will decide if they judge it to be significantly not as described. If they do you will be given the return address.

Yes a B4 box with click and send would be enough, I would add signature required to be on the safe side, I don't know how much that would cost but a 5kg red satchel is quite large and can be registered so see which is cheaper.

If Paypal find against you come back here and we will tell you haow to get the decision overturned.

Re: Item not as describe

the click and send B4 box costs $12.75 including the cost of the box - I think it is an extra $1 for signature.

Still cheaper than a 5 kg satchel, registered.

When bullet pointing the things I am not happy with, is this when I am messaging the buyer through the resolution center? Or when I message them first of all? I have already sent them one message, but I might sent another specifically outlining which game disc was not included, and which has scratches and whatnot.

Thankyou for your reply

I sent this to the buyer before

"Hi there, thankyou for your fast postage, i received the bundle today. I am messaging you to tell you that I am not happy with the condition of the bundle whatsoever. The call of duty black ops case is missing the game, some of the cases are missing their manuals and alot of the games have a fair few scratches. The console looks like it hasn't been cleaned out in years, and to top it off one of the official controller is falling apart, the controller case has been cracked and is on the edge of splitting into to. None of this was in the listing, you said they were in a "good" condition according to the listing, and that they were in a great condition in the description. "

And curraone can I use the b4 box that they sent the bundle in to me when i return the box? I can remove the express post sticker and the postage label, and can just stick the click and send label on the top of the box.

Re: Item not as describe

absolutely - the Aust Post B4 boxes are re-usable - they actually make a point of that on their website.

It must be a proper Australia Post B4 box.

PJ has advised you to email the seller and give then detailed information about the faults. Make sure you open a Paypal dispute within 45 days after you paid and don't let the seller drag things out with promises.
