Item sold as working. but it is not. please help me

Hello everyone, I may ask your help guys because I do not know what to do.
I bought from a vendor, one retina screen LCD display used for my macbook because mine broke.
The seller assured me that the object works 100%, but in reality once i plugged in, it is not. ( actually the screen works but it does not work the backlight).
I had already asked him if in case it does not work if I can return the item and he reassured me and said "yes, only if there were no damages".
Now after I have contacted him and indicated that it does not work, he says that I have done something wrong during installation (but it is not true, because I am technician hardaware from 6 years...) so at this point is my word against his.

Now no longer responds to the messages that I send him .
The payment was made through paypal.
I think that I have been cheated by the seller or maybe he didn't know(?).

What can I do now?

The cost of the item is expensive $300 plus $ 10 shipping.
Thanks you for your help.
Marco

Re: Item sold as working. but it is not. please help me

Ok guys, Paypal wrote to me asking to return the item to the seller.

I followed the instructions , give them the track number of the parcel and I send it back with express post, and signature on return.

I still havent left any (blood red) feedback to the seller. I should do now? because honestly im still quiet angry about this!!! or just wait for him to receive his stuff and that's it?

Thankyou for all the people helped me in here

Grazie

Marco

That is the risk we take when buying from ebay and very oftens from oversea sellers. The return postage from Australia to China with tracking number is every expensive and sometimes cost more then the original sell price. It happens to me few times. Think of acceptable lost before you buy, even from Australia sellers.

No, leave negative feedback last, that is when you used up all other options and received all possible compensations. Then leave a negative feedback. Because postponing negative feedback gives the option to used it as a implicit threat against the seller. Obviously you can not threaten him with negative feedback, which is against eBay rule and is blackmailing, but you can make a subtle hints, if you know what I mean.

I'm sure the OP would have sorted the issue out that took place 6 months ago.
