..... I won an item in Victoria on Saturday 2nd March. (I am NSW)
Seller emailed me to request payment on Monday 4th March. (at that stage, i hadnt realised i had won it as I hadnt been on the internet over the weekend, and i had placed one bid on this item a few days before)
a tad suprised by the seller demands, but obliged and paid immediately via paypal on 4th March.
On Sunday, the 10th March, I noticed the item in my *purchased* history is still unmarked as posted... so i emailed seller and asked if they could tell me when they posted it as it wasnt marked as such. (i know that not everybody marks items as posted thropugh the ebay system, so I just wanted to double check)
She replies on the same day with appologies that she had her parents staying over, and she FORGOT to post my item!... then she says that Monday (yesterday) is a P/H, so she will post Tuesday (today).
Im like.... WTF!
Im really annoyed.
Im REALLY REALLY annoyed!
I opened an item not received case today. I know it will be posted, and i hope it will eventually arrive... but to simply *forget* to post, after 6 days of having my money, then im sorry, but case open it is!
(delivery handeling time-within 3 days of cleared payment)
Sorry.... just had to rant.
cheers...

at the end of the day.... this is all about GOOD BUSINESS.
Im not here to take into account your personal problems. If you sold me an item, asked for payment, still have the item 6days later, then .... THATS BAD BUSINESS imo.
i am an understanding person, i do realise lives happen outside ebay, but she has my details, she could phone, email, too easy! BUT SHE DIDNT. not until I chased it up!
so... yep, i stand by my INR and my first world issues here! ;\
newbie or not... she is not off to a good ebay start!

I'm glad I'm not a seller, I'm so lazy I'd have so many negs for slow postage time.
I'd have to have a 10 day handling time!
I bought something to post to a friend of mine around Easter time last year, well It's still in the spare room waiting to be posted!

Selling 7 unwanted items in 6 months is NOT a business. ๐

Why argue the point > Buyers expect their items to be posted within a reasonable time frane NOT when a seller feels like posting.

"why argue the point ????" lol deja - you post some funny things on a discussion board

omg Phorum... are you foxy's mum??
Sorry I didn't reply sooner with an explanation. I was actually delivering meals on wheels to the den.
Apparently I gave birth to the Foxy one when I was 12, I seemed to have been so traumatised by this that I have absolutely no memory of it. Anyway the tale is a bit obscure after that but as far as we have managed to work it out she was meant to be adopted by a rich American but on the boat over she was shipwrecked and taken in by some eskimos, from there she somehow landed in Africa where she became an African child bride at the age of 12. Sometime after that she was rescued and ended up being adopted in Australia.
A few years ago she decided to trace her real mother and so we were reunited thanks to the fact that on my trips to Australia I started to sell on ebay and she recognised a kindred spirit.
I have been unable to refute this story as neither of us can afford a DNA test so for now I have to accept my belated responsibilities and travel down once every couple of weeks with ready cooked meals for her and the cubs.

I wonder how some sellers would react if one of their buyers"Forgot" to pay.
Of course, the advice given would be to open a NPB dispute wouldn't it?
Well, I seem to be much more patient as a buyer and seller on eBay than in real life . . . but one buyer I had made no communication after the auction on a Sunday night, nor the following Wednesday when I sent a reminder (I ask for communication within 1 day of auction and payment within 5 days) nor the Friday evening when I politely asked if everything was OK because I had not received any communication and please let me know if there were any problems. I also told her I would unfortunately have to open an unpaid item dispute on Saturday evening if I hadn't heard. Which I did, because I heard nothing.
Next thing I know I get a curt email telling me 'your precious item has been paid for' and that 'some people have a life outside of eBay'.
Now, this got my back up because I had been rather patient and really polite. I returned the email stating politely that I had done what any good seller would do given my terms with no communication. The reply was calmer - apparently she had just checked her email after a week (her mother had died 8 days before) and the dispute email was the first she opened being the most recent one.
My response? Told her that she must have had a rough week and the item would be posted as soon as the DD payment cleared. . . . and did so. I didn't leave feedback though.
So me, I try to be patient with buyers who forget. Not so much with buyers/sellers who are deliberately fraudluent or are rude, but I must say the majority are great. A little patience can go a long way . . . now how can I apply that to my 'out of ebay life'?!!!

Slightly off topic but am curious if many sellers list items with buy-it-now (pay immediately) to get around the issue of slow/forgetful buyers? I have never tried it with my own listings though. I give buyers 7 days to pay but find most pay really quickly.

Whilst I have pathological distaste for those who do not pay X-(X-(X-( , I never list my goods as requiring immediate payment as I loathe it as a very frequent buyer myself. I like the four day arrangement that ebay is set up to accommodate as a buyer and as a seller ๐
I get most annoyed with immediate payment when I want to purchase more than one item from seller and am seeking combined post, or I need to wait to get some dosh into paypal via my own sales and don't want to put purchase payment straight the credit card via paypal.
