in a couple of months iv'e had two messages from Ebay (i dont think it was really them) saying iv'e missed out on items iv'e bid on. My bid was unsucessful, ect.

I got my 2nd message today saying iv'e missed out on a car charger.

I cant find any reference to it at all in "MyEbay" or in my messages. The email header was from ebay@ebay.com. Ebay help say if there isnt a second copy in MyEbay messages then its a Phising email ,what ever that means? (fake?)

There was never a second copy in MyEbay messages. anyone else have the same experience??

If most messages dont go to My Messages, then whats this mean:

If you're suspicious about an email that claims to be from eBay, sign in to My eBay and click the Messages tab. If you don't see the same message there, the email is fake.

You need to understand the underlying message, not just what the words say. It means that if it's in your My Messages, then it's DEFINITELY real.

A similar situation is this one.... If an email (claiming to be) from eBay or Paypal does not address you by your full name. then it is definitely a fake. But that doesn't mean that all emails that do address you by full name are necessarily from eBay or Paypal.

So, to summarise - not all messages from eBay will be sent to both your Email and My Messages.
