I don't have PayPal account, must I use PayPal to buy items on ebay?
I like to submit money directly to seller's bank account from my credit-card, is it possible?
Thanks.

Thanks, I will do it soon.

as kopenhagen says you should open a PayPal a/c
NO you can not use your credit card to pay via bank deposit
paying by bank deposit over the counter at a bank is a very unsafe way to buy, if the seller never posts the item, or it is not as described or has a problem/fault, then there is no way you can get your $$ back. However if you use PayPal and follow their guidelines you can claim your money back within 45 days...

putney32,
Thanks for your reply.
I offen transfer money from my bank account (not by credit-card) to others, why do yoou think it is unsafe? can others get my money from my bank account illegally?

As a seller I do not want buyers depositing over the counter at my bank, I get charged for deposits over a certain number each month and if I have been selling a lot on gumtree then I will easily go over the allowed number of otc transactions if buyers on ebay were to start paying me in that way.
I only offer Paypal and I expect buyers to respect my choice as to how I want to be paid however some sellers are more than happy to have buyers pay cash at the bank so you just have to take a risk and ask the seller if they don't offer that option.

It is not just putney who thinks bank deposit is unsafe to use on ebay. You are effectively giving a gift of your money to a seller and hoping that you will get your items. There is not protection for purchases made this way so if the seller does not send the items you can not get your money back.
The safest way of trading on ebay is using a credit or Visa Debit card through paypal and it is free, so I don't see why you don't want to do it.

You can pay using your credit card over the counter if your seller accepts bank deposit but it counts as a cash withdrawal as far as the credit card company is concerned so you will begin to pay interest on it straight away and you will not have the buyer protection offered when using a credit card to pay for items. Please open a Paypal account and use that.

nai-au Like the other posters I too have a card attached to my paypal. However I went to a completely different bank unrelated to any of my day to day banking activities. I only use this account for ebay purchases and sales and therefore this activity is isolated. This way it helps me keep a track of how much damage I am doing hahaha.

You can use your credit card to pay through the paypal payment screen without having a paypal account, there is provision for that, Even though I do have a paypal account, I have used the credit card screen instead sometimes when I wanted to keep the payments separate for some reason.
I know many experienced posters advise against paying by bank deposit. If I buy something for a very small amount, (there are a lot of 99 cent items at the moment!) I pay by bank deposit, I just think it is fairer to the seller that way. I have never had any trouble, the sellers have been appreciative and I have received my items no worries.
