My negative feedback to a seller has been removed. How do i contact ebay to have it reinstated. It was genuinely deserved. This cuts to the credibility of ebay when such comments are removed without reference to the buyer.

Maybe that's not such a bad idea. Some people should never buy on eBay because they have nothing but trouble. You seem to be one of them. Yet the rest of us rarely, if ever, have trouble. Probably because we took the time to read and follow the rules.
As for feedback, do you buy because you want the item, or are you more interested in giving and receiving feedback.
Of course eBay was going to see in favour of the seller. You didn't follow the rules. It's not the seller's or eBay's fault you chose to not follow their rules. You wanted a refund and to not return the rug. That's not how it works. If you want a refund, you have to send the item back.
Probably best if you stick to buying from B&M stores. At least you don't have to worry about dodgy sellers placing unrealistic estimates in their listings...............
