Short story,lately I bought a Canon F-1 from a seller in Japan it cost me AU $397.05 and I paid it via Paypal, and after I received the camera what I found that camera is not Canon F-1 but Nikon EL2, I sent messages to the seller and he replied me "Today my shipping agent contacted me, they sent a camera to you on the same day they shipped Nikon EL2 to someone,in other words there is a high possibility that they made a mistake in putting labels on them" and he ask me to send the camera back to his shipping agent and I might get my Canon F-1, but if not he will full refund my money back . What should I do?

Open a dispute in ebay for item not as described.  See what the seller proposes in the dispute.  He will probably tell you to return the item as he has already accepted that there has been a mistake.  He should also make arrangements to pay for the return shipping of the camera so you are not out of pocket.

 

Do not send it to any address other than an address given to you through the dispute.

 

If the seller does not offer to pay the retirn postage you can escalate to dispute so ebay can step in.  In that case send the camera to the address given to you by ebay.

this is the latest message from the seller "I can understand your anxiety well. What I have to do is to deliver your cannon to you. First of all, I have to confirm that your CANON has arrived at the buyer of Nikon that my shipping agent sent by mistake. Next, Nikon and Canon are returned to my shipping agent once again and shipped to the correct buyer again. And I promised to pay you 10% of camera price in addition to shipping costs."

That sounds promising...he seems to be taking all the right steps and acknowledging that he is responsible for the return postage costs.

Even though it sounds like he is trying to fix the problem, don't let him string you along. I would open a dispute regardless. Once outside the 30 days since delivery you won't be able to open an ebay dispute. You will have the option of opening a Paypal dispute within 180 days. Ask the seller to send you a return postage paid shipping label too.

The seller is in Japan....he cannot send an AP return shipping label.

He will have to agree to send an agreed shipping amount to the OP's paypal account.
