Hi all,
I have paid for a "used iMac" over the weekend & have attempted to contact the seller ever since.
Today is the 4th day & the seller still have not response to my request for arrangement to pick up the item since it's listed as "local pick up only"
In the mean time, he has re listed the same item 3 times. At this point I have lost my trust in this seller. Who would have 3 used iMac? even if they do why the only list 1 at a time & keep re listing the item after someone have bought it?
Also, since this is a local pick up. why ebay forcing me to wait for a week before I can open a dispute?
Any recommendation on this case?
Thank you

It does not matter whether you have ben able to pick up the item or not.....pick up items are not covered by paypal.
Even if you had picked it uop and it was not as described then you still could not open a dispute.
This is why you are advised to pay cash after you have inspected the item and ensured that it is as described and what you want.

If you have paid by paypal for a Pickup only item you are not eligible to open a dispute.....neither you nor the seller are covered for pickup items by paypal.
You should have paid cash after inspecting the item and nmaking sure that it was as described.

I mean I have all the proof to show that I have attempted to contact seller on multiple occasion & there were no response what so ever from the seller.
So to a certain degree, I can show that I have not able to collect the item.

The correct method is to only pay your money after you have inspected the item and you are happy with what you are about to buy. The contract is there and then, between you and the seller, paypal will have nothing to do with it because there are too many grey areas that could be exploited when it is a direct pick up of the item. For example, there is no proof of supply or delivery of the item, no proof of postage that can shown. Sorry, you are now on your own with this one.

All you can do at the moment is contact eBay, Help & Contact at the top of your page, and request the seller's contact details and give them a call. If it is the real account holder you've made your purchase from.
As already stated by lyndal1838 you won't be able to open a dispute as pick-ups are not covered by PayPal. Pick-ups should be for cash only, and only after inspecting the item.
If as you say the seller has relisted the same item 3 times it sounds like a scam or a hacked account, that may be why the seller has not responded, and unfortunately it looks like you've done your dough.

Thank you all for your info.
Much learned after this.
In any case, I have opened the case with Paypal & they said it's good that I have paid with my CC therefore they will escalate the issue. Seller have 10 days to response or I will have my dough back. Finger cross.
Thanks all

If the seller points out that it was a pickup item then they will win the dispute and you will not get your money back.
The comment about being a good thing that you funded the payment with a credit card is just alerting you to the fact that you can do a chargeback through your bank if the paypal dispute is unsuccessful.....which it probably will be if the seller is on the ball.

Looks like the seller had 3 to start with.
Someone purchased one, you sent in an offer that was accepted and there is one left.
