Hello, yes you just give the seller your email you use for paypal.

Nothing else.

Re: Pay Pal details

Can't you buy the item on ebay? Is it an ebay or website seller?

Re: Pay Pal details

it all depends on the seller - is it a good seller with lots of postive feedback, based in Australia?

Is the item listed on ebay?   why can't she make a special listing for you on ebay so that you can follow the correct procedure?

Re: Pay Pal details

Hi, I also think you just need to give the seller your email address... not a big deal...Should be fine. Good luck!

Which then makes it an off eBay transaction, which is a policy violation and could get the seller, if not the buyer, into trouble. Especially when the buyer has advertised the matter.

What you think, emily, is not necessarily (usually?) how this place works.

Be careful you are not being asked to trade outside ebay as this is against ebay policy. Its much simpler if the Seller just lists the sample on ebay ( if not already listed) for you to purchase via paypal. Then its all above board. IMHO 🙂

In terms of protection, yes, it's safe if the invoice they send you clearly shows you are purchasing eligible, tangible goods that are being posted. If it shows as something else (eg a service, not specified, no postage details etc, then less safe).

Being against eBay's trading off-site policy is debatable. There has been conflicting information from eBay in regards to contacting sellers about items they don't have listed and a subsequent sale taking place off eBay.

If the seller has samples already available and listed, then it would be a breach of policy (no question), if they are not listed on the site then it's not quite so clear cut, in that a seller is not obliged to list items on eBay just because they have it to sell and the enquiry came via eBay (doesn't mean the policy can't be interpreted differently by different people, though, including eBay representatives, and I'm not saying my understanding of it is inarguably correct).

I always err on the side of caution and list on eBay, anyway, and hopefully the seller will be agreeable to the request.
