Purchased bulk lot of watches deemed restricted?

I purchased 3 bulk lots of watches from the UK through the Global Shipping Program. I have purchased several watches from same seller twice before with no issue, but this time the items were held up at UK customs and deemed restricted. I was refunded fully but eBay said items won't be sent to me or back to the seller. I really wanted these watches but also feel really back for the seller who will not receive them back. Has anyone had similar experiences? I can't understand what could possibly be the issue with a few watches being sent?

The GSP is a law unto itself.

It is unlikely the seller will get the watches back.

If they do, negotiate with them to not use the GSP. Understanding that the GSP protects sellers if they can prove postage to the GSP hub, not the other side of the world.

The seller was paid for the items, they  are not entitled to have the items returned, and you have been refunded.  Not sure why the items were seized, any chance they contained radium,

Hi. Yes, some would have, being all vintage wind up type. I did'nt think that would be a issue but obviously must have been. Cheers
