The new policy that eBay have imposed meaning any buyer residing in Queensland can not purchase any knife is not aligned with the actual legislation changes.
The only thing that has changed is that you need to be 18 to purchase a knife.
Ebay should just implement age verification and stop this ridiculous heavy handed policy that prevents legitimate users such as myself from purchasing legal items.

You could contact your local MP to find out the census statistics of people who vote in Queensland

Why on earth would I do that - I couldn't care less.
Your comment was ' vote accordingly at the elections '.
This is a public forum - not everyone - in fact - very few who post are in Queensland.

Zero interest in how many people are stamping their foot over not being able to buy knives on eBay if they live in Queensland
And I do not have so much free time on my hands I wish to waste it on such 'stuff'
I would rather spend that time on something that matters
I suggest those with the issue contact their local MPs to 'make eBay let them'
Or. as always, buy them elsewhere
The obsession with having to buy them on eBay is a head scratcher

It is already eBay policy that members are 18 years or older. Imagine the uproar.

I'm hoping this might help get the eBay knife policy changed.
It is eBay policy that members are 18 or older. This is because anyone who is under 18 and purchases an item is in breach of contract law.
Since eBay already requires that all members are 18 or over, there should be no restrictions on eBay members buying knives in Queensland.

Well, it sounds like you've successfully identified step 1.

And do you honestly believe eBay is going to shut down member's accounts until they verify their DOB ?
Not going to happen..................

I'm with you padi.
Just have to look back at the uproar over Managed Payments and providing details and documents.
I know a lot of that was over sellers having to provide banking details, but imagine buyers having to provide personal identifying documents!
Also, my understanding of the Qld laws (which might be wrong), is that it is not just about being over 18, I think it is also about sales of certain types of knives and 'bladed' implements being prohibited.

Not everyone has kids either and are 18plus years I've submitted on request of ebay in messages for photo ID which did ,still can't buy a folding shovel or scissors knife steel or any sharpener nothing that's listed in certain categories or any mention of knife it's a over reach by ebay left wing and is discrimination
