The new policy that eBay have imposed meaning any buyer residing in Queensland can not purchase any knife is not aligned with the actual legislation changes.
The only thing that has changed is that you need to be 18 to purchase a knife.
Ebay should just implement age verification and stop this ridiculous heavy handed policy that prevents legitimate users such as myself from purchasing legal items.

It does not matter if ebay believes a member is over 18, the test is in the photo ID required to be verified with details kept and produced on demand, and as far as 18 goes the test is a person who appears to be under 25.
Also in the legislation, there does not appear to be anything to absolve every or any individual seller from also meeting the verification requirements. IE: ebay did it for me does not appear to be good enough.
I am still not sure if the owners of swords, battle axes etc are required to have them under lock and key or tethered at all times, or only if they are offering them for sale. The mind boggles, selling a dining suite, not the un-tethered items on the wall.

I totally agree with your comments. A person who purchases any item with the intent to cause harm will continue to do so regardless of any restrictions placed upon the sellers and their genuine customers. This is a kneejerk reaction at best.

It's just another bit of rubbish legislation foisted on the Queensland public by the last, far left state government. It's pathetic, I tried to buy a new electric knife to cut the Christmas turkey. Can't do it, I keep getting a QPS message saying you can't buy knives in Queensland. The legislation only applies to people under 18, and even though Ebay has all my details, there is no attempt to verify the age of the buyer. Ebay owes it to the the sellers and buyers using the site, to sort this out. I ended up buying it from amazon instead.

There you go
You have choices, as does every single other buyer
'far left', please
That is simply a comment from someone with no valid argument
eBay does not 'owe' it to those who stamp their foot and demand anything/any item be allowed to be sent to their location . It is like those who want to demand eBay allow them to buy plants which are restricted to their state, or items from overseas that are not allowed through customs
People are well of the rules by now, so why even attempt to buy something you know you can't
Nobody has to buy anything (knives included) from eBay alone
And nor do eBay care (or even know) you bought elsewhere

I couldn't bid on a hand plane **bleep**!!! This is beyond ridiculous. The juveniles they're trying to target wouldn't know what a hand plane is. I wonder if you can still purchase nail clippers???

Move.
Or use another online site - not run by 'AI'.
Or buy from a B&M, or their online store.

"Move"
you're being more ridiculous than these rules.
A kinfe, I can understand. A handplane?? come on! Is there any record of someone using a handplane to attack someone... even the blade itself.

Point being, you have many other options
I have never heard of someone having to buy a handplane off a seller on eBay
As for your last question, I wouldn't know, have never 'Googled' it. However the 'people' who are going to attack another person would use whatever was in reach to do so
Hardly as if we are talking about decent/stable/'normal' people there
