Queensland Knife Restrictions do not align with state law and are discriminative

The new policy that eBay have imposed meaning any buyer residing in Queensland can not purchase any knife is not aligned with the actual legislation changes.

The only thing that has changed is that you need to be 18 to purchase a knife.

Ebay should just implement age verification and stop this ridiculous heavy handed policy that prevents legitimate users such as myself from purchasing legal items.

Yes, but the laws in Queensland still apply to all buyers in Queensland, regardless if people are buying scalpel blades off Ebay or other businesses it would seem.

I am trying to buy a bread slicer on eBay because I make my own bread, these don't have a knife included. The Queensland warning comes up and I not able to purchase the item. I have tried multiple sellers, and I get the same message. I have contacted the eBay robot, and it doesn't know what I am talking about. I have also contacted one of the sellers, they also don't know what I am talking about.

With the Ebay chat, you need to keep clicking on different questions so that it eventually connects you to a real person who you can chat with, so you can make a complaint.

Yes. Go to the National Retailers Association website and there is a table which lists exempt, controlled and restricted knife and blade items. https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:AP:d3181df4-e31b-4495-b8bb-3af2e4a36fb8

Last week I was denied purchase of an exempt item, on Friday got a message from ebay telling me to continue where I left off.  Purchase now permitted.

Note, only got this message for 1 of several exempt items that were denied.

I attempted to buy a bone saw as I home kill  sheep, I can go to local shop and buy one at 2 or 3 times the price hard to justify the fact I have a credit card attached to my ebay account should show I'm not a minor ,, where does this stop, it's adhoc over all blades it appears, yet I can order with credit card on another site,  I just pay more

Well for one, a credit card is not a valid form of identification.

Find a new hobby

Or pay the extra elsewhere

Or don't try to buy on eBay when you know such things are restricted and then complain you can't

And you have to be over 18 to have an eBay account anyway so totally moot
