Hi - received a refund (via Ebay) for a purchase (previous thread "Question onTracking").
But how do I now give feedback ? the sale has disapeared from my summary page & have searched through other sections with no success.
Thanks

Something's happened to the seller.
Nothing has been listed since 1st November and the 2 listings left, state
'more than 10 available' so they'll just keep going.
19 negs this month
But strange all the same - $2.50 listing with free postage?
No way a Canna Lily bulb is going to fit in an envelope.

I checked the dates of purchase of the early negs - they were bought well before me & never posted while I was in communication with him before my sale so the something sudden doesn't really add up. He was selling, sending tracking numbers (but never posted) while I was discussing how many bulbs & postage costs.

I know I wouldn't have the stamina nor the inclination.
My efforts would have gone to somehow finding out if anything happened to this seller.
If you just think about it, by the looks of it - something may have happened to the seller rather than seller being a crook!
They sell such cheap things that it can't be the money.
It's the sort of nothing money that most of us would think it's too much effort to even bend down and pick it up from the street!
So that motivation for the seller (get rich quick scheme) is obviously out, so the next thing we all imediately think of is: Something happened!
Hope the seller is OK - and I am very happy to hear you got your dollar back from Ebay!
After all - that's the main thing, isn't it?
The best scams would be for small amounts because a lot of people would just shrug their shoulders and do nothing about it. In one of the seller's listings it shows a quantity of 88 sold (or did when I checked last week). How many of these people haven't received their bulbs but haven't done a claim through ebay or left negative feedback - probably quite a lot. It's a fairly new ID and they could have deliberately got a few feedback before they started a scam, as is usually the case.

Not true. The cheapskates are the worst neg givers, according to just about everyone. Read it ad nauseuam on the boards.
Spend the least, give the negs at the drop of the hat! Maybe because it's quicker than mucking around with opening disputes, writing to sellers blah, blah, blah - all too time consuming and boring. Crucify the seller - only takes but a second.
One would think that because they are small amounts buyers would "shrug their shoulders" and forget about it - but NO!
Exactly the oposite is the case, the OP here is the prime example! He put in a lot of hard work for $1.00 that he spent - determined to find the way to leave the neg!
And NO, again, no self respecting crook would bother scamming people for these amounts - suggest it to one of them and they'll die laughing! Crime has to pay in direct proportion to inconveince of getting caught and jailed for a long time - and this plants selling for 2 bucks ian't IT!

What an amazing rant.
If I wanted to throw money away I could think of more enjoyable ways!
I see nothing unreasonable about seeking to have my money refunded so I can spend it with a seller who does communicate, post the items paid for & provide a service. I have no control over the price a seller sets his items no one is forcing him to do it. I'm guessing that you pay full price asked when buying groceries on sale in Woolworths? If however the seller sets a price & doesn't honour the contract I don't see how that becomes my fault ?
In fact I spent $16 on top of 100s of dollars I have spent on ebay & gumtree buying plants from small sellers for our that garden we haven't been able to develop in 17 years. I will reinvest that money with other sellers on Ebay.
I don't get any joy out of it & this is the first time I have ever had to request a refund on Ebay. I felt obligated to warn others of a problem stating the facts. The problem being he is not posting anything. If there were a problem I would patiently wait if the problem was communicated. However it was not. Time to move on. I have a garden to plant before winter!

I'm not sure about this, I really don't think you can predict either way, it depends on the person, both buyer & seller.
My daughter is a prime example. She paid for an item that never arrived, no tracking info, no response from seller to messages etc.
She was just going to shrug her shoulders and forget it but I said-make a claim.
How do I do that? she asked. Too much bother, forget it, it is only $4.
She was a bit the same when she sold something and the person didn't pay. I said-file a claim to get your fees back. All that work for a dollar or so? was her reply though I think she did eventually follow through with that one.
I'd be willing to bet there are a lot of other occasional ebay buyers (and sellers) like her who are too lazy or confused or unsure of procedure so just don't bother.
On the other hand, feedback is easier, a much more straightforward process.
I'm guessing but I would say a lot of purchases on ebay are for small things so that's probably why a lot of the negs are for small things. To me, no matter how small the purchase, you are entitled to get what you paid for. It's a matter of principle.
As for going to jail for a few dollars. I'd say that is much more unlikely than if a seller went in for a really big theft.

I have had similar problems with several sellers - Shipments from china seem to be going astray at an alarming rate! Although like the original poster these refunded purchases seem to have disappeared entirely from my purchase history - even in the cancelled purchase section. More alarming is that correspondence with those sellers in question has even disappeared from my inbox messages. Am finding this very frustrating ..... As I would prefer to have record of these so I can ensure that I never purchase from them again.

If all record of the transactions has disappeared from ebay it is because ebay has removed it (and possibly the seller too).
There is very little/no danger of you buying from the seller again if they have been removed from the site.
If you realy want to find out their ID go to your paypal account ad make a note of it....the transactions can never disappear from there.

Slightly off-topic, but are you aware that eBay makes up their own delivery "estimates" which, in reality, have no bearing on the speed that various postal companies will deliver items.
The only thing a seller has control over is how fast they get the item to the post office, after that it's beyond their control completely.
I say this because your feedback left for others brings up ETA's for delivery a lot, I do hope you're not marking seller's DSRs down because the delivery time doesn't match eBay's "estimates".

Sad that a seller copped aneutral because the postal service was slow in doing their job. I've lost track of how many times I've told buyers that estimates are exactly that. Estimates. They are not a guarantee. Yet so many people are quick to blamethe seller.
I had a similar sounding neutral and associated defect removed last year because the buyer was upset it arrived the day after the estimate date. I had posted within an hour of payment, which I pointed out to the buyer. They didn't care because apparently I am personally responsible for the day to day operations of AP. You can only imagine the messages of abuse I got after they realised their feedback was removed.
