I just stumbled on this little note way over on the right of my Buyer's Feedback page.
What happened was a typo, where I put in $299 by mistake but was able to retract it shortly after and
correct it to $2.99., but I still bid.
I think this note gives the wrong impression on my Feedback page and I have asked ebay to remove it based on
my explanation above and they have asked me which item it was.
trouble is I've bought about 5 items recently and have no way of remembering which one it was.
And when I ask them how I can tell they don't explain.
So what I'm asking, is there any way to find out which item I did this with? Otherwise I'll have to send them the
item nos of all my recent purchases - no huge deal, but would prefer something easier.

geez bright, you're ambitious! You send messages to eBay?? seriously?? and they answer?? with something meaningful other than a cut and paste?
LOL

Whilst IMO most people make genuine mistakes when making their bids, there is no way to really know if someone has made a typo or placed a bid in an effort to reveal the highest maxium bid - for sniping or shilling purposes.
So retracting a bid and then entering a correct bid is not necessarily without suspicion either, which is why the retraction tally includes all retraction activity.

Open up the listings from your purchase history, then look at the bid history. It will show there if any had bids retracted.

Spoilerit would annoy me too BTW, different if I didn't bid again, then fair enough.
Have to admit it (modestly ) but yes.

oh well, not the end of the world
What I'll do is write back to ebay I think and list all the items I have recently won and hope that one of them
is the offending one, as I feel a bit like a dog with a bone on this one, lol.
is it possible that the two bid retractions were on items that that seller had listed and the seller has put them on his/her Blocked Bidder List? I know that if someone had two bid retractions on any of my items/listings I would put them on my BBL. If this isn't the case, then I think your friend has struck an isolated seller who goes through bidder feedback and cancels bids and blocks people because of retractions. Not many sellers would bother going through bidder feedback so closely.
As far as I am aware, sellers can not automatically block all bidders/buyers with bid retractions.

I am sure there are not many sellers who would block a bidder who only had a couple of bid retractions (not sure I would want to buy from somebody as irational anyway) however them being displayed does serve a purpose as a seller can complain to ebay if they have a habitual offender who has a large number of revised bids, ebay may restrict the buyer to BIN only purchases or they may suspend their buying privileges altogether. I would not think that ebay would remove the notification and as long as you don't make the same mistake too often I would just forget about it.

Yes I think I will forget about it - it's getting too hard. I see all my recent purchases apart from one were BINS.
Ebay said that one that I bid on did not show a retracted bid.
So I'm assuming it happened when i bid on other things and didn't win, which can probably never be
tracked now.
I still would have thought ebay would know which one was the offending one, but never mind.
Sir sales I think that's what happened with the friend with 2 retracted bids showing, they put her on their
BBL.

Yes I've done that, but all the purchases were BIN except one, and that doesn't show a bid retraction.
I'm still communicating with ebay (yes, a real correspondence, lol) and querying why they don't have a
record of which item I supposedly retracted on.
But no big deal as I said - but while they are talking to me I'll talk back.
