I just stumbled on this little note way over on the right of my Buyer's Feedback page.
What happened was a typo, where I put in $299 by mistake but was able to retract it shortly after and
correct it to $2.99., but I still bid.
I think this note gives the wrong impression on my Feedback page and I have asked ebay to remove it based on
my explanation above and they have asked me which item it was.
trouble is I've bought about 5 items recently and have no way of remembering which one it was.
And when I ask them how I can tell they don't explain.
So what I'm asking, is there any way to find out which item I did this with? Otherwise I'll have to send them the
item nos of all my recent purchases - no huge deal, but would prefer something easier.

were all 5 purchases below $2.99?
can you narrow it down that way?
and they're probably not telling you cos they don't know themselves!

or if you click on it, does a date or something appear?

Thanks Crikey, but no, the initial bid I made from memory was $2.99 but then I did increase the bids.
and I can't find any dates anywhere.
Silly of me not to remember which one it was but I just can't,
And now another thought has occurred to me, this might have been an item I bid on and did not win,
so there's no record of those in My Ebay.
I would have thought ebay having picked up this retracted bid would have a record of which one it was,
but they're not much help there.
I could be knackered (lol, if I'm allowed to use that word).

Personally I would not worry about having 1 bid retraction showing in your feedback, I really think any seller would not be concerned by any buyer with a few bid retractions in their history, unless they were a brand newie to ebay. Typos can be easily made, particuarly in the last minutes of an auction.
Depending on their purchasing habits, I think it is only when a buyer starts to get towards double digits in the 12 month period that they show, that alarm bells would start to ring, but TBH I am not even sure many sellers would even check the number of bid retractions that someone has, unless they were suspicious about something else.
That being said, I think the tally is there for a pretty good reason, so I will be interested to know if they can easily be removed on request ?

brighton, if it helps at all, if it is this account, I can't see a mention anywhere of a bid retraction...
now that could mean that I'm not looking in the right place, but.......
and I ran a CTRL F search on the page for "retraction" and that picked up nuffin!
maybe give them a ring back tomorrow and get a different person? like one who might know something?
(remeber I got told a few weeks ago by an eBay supervisor who assured me they had the most up to date information, to contact LIVEWORLD for tech help)
PLUS
I just saw on the PS board how some people haven't even been getting through cos they had to shut down the call centre due to an emergency, so maybe you got caught up in that and got the tea lady covering the toilet breaks or something..

I have one bid retraction showing on my feedback...big deal!!
I agree with thecatspjs (this is getting to be a habit cats). If there is no other reason for a seller to look at your feedback it is unlikely that they would ever know.

Bid retraction tallys don't show on all feedback page, they only show on the buyer feedback page.

I wouldn't have worried about it except that someone in a group told us she had 2 bid retractions showing and
therefore a buyer wouldn't let her bid and she really wanted that item.
I'd wear it if I had genuinely retracted bids - but -
oh well, not the end of the world
What I'll do is write back to ebay I think and list all the items I have recently won and hope that one of them
is the offending one, as I feel a bit like a dog with a bone on this one, lol.
