Hi a buyer just retracted a bid on something i am selling saying it was an incorrect amount?  Does she now have to bid with the correct amount?

They are supposed to do that but they cannot be forced to do it.

Don’t worry about it.

Buyers can’t be forced to bid, or buy, or pay for that matter!
At least, this buyer had the decency to retract their bid before the 12hr window.

By rights, yes, but as mentioned, it's not enforced. Buyers that retract bids usually use the incorrect amount option to cancel. If there are existing bids on an auction, some buyers will place a really high bid to see if an existing bidder has put in a much higher amount. That will make them decide if they want to put in a higher bid than the current highest bidder. If it's more than they plan to bid, they retract their bid.

Its not good is it at all shouldn’t be allowed only deciding they don’t want it

Exactly... they don't want the item.

Would you prefer that they win the auction & then refuse to pay?... making you wait a further 4 days to cancel as unpaid.

or... they pay & you ship the item & then they invent a reason to claim it is Not As Described & you have the joy of paying for a return.

You have to consider which is the lesser of two weevils.

I'd rather they don't make fake bids in the first place

I don't like The Weevils as much as I like The Feebles though

They are supposed to re-bid with the correct amount but no one can force them to.

In my opinion, what should happen is if they retract a bid and do not rebid within 5 minutes, then all their previous bids on that item should be deleted.

This could mean that if there were other bidders, the $ amounts would reset.

It would help put a stop to any shill bidding or bidding where another buyer is just trying to discover  the bidder's top price.

Agree with retracted bids.

Bonus points if you can name the movie I stole the weevil line from.
