Purchased a Solar Blanket on the 21st Sept and it was delivered on the 25th Sept 2024.
I became faulty on the 29th Sept 2024
Only 30 days replacement, but this has 2 years warranty.
I have been communicating since the 29th Sept 2024. We agreed to send it back through Pack and Send at cost, but the seller has not been forthcoming with all the detail that Pack and Send require. 1. No name of address 2. No phone number (gave an incorrect one as I tried to ring them) 3. no email address.
They have also been very lax in replying promptly to communication
I have been onto Ebay - Paypal - Bank. Appears no one can help
This has dragged on for 25 days and I fear that the seller is just delaying the process.
Last night correspondence received. Because its been 90 days they want me to pay not only $67 for return, but another $150 because it has been 90 days.
I messaged them saying I was willing to pay the $67 but not the $150 as the 90 days is not yet passed.
Got an email tonight saying quote "Hi since your order has exceeded 90 days,eBay doesn't allow us to issue the refund.
And we only offer 60 days free turn replacement.
Best regards "
I was talking to Prateek at ebay tonight and stated what I was doing $67 for agreed return and just a refund. No mention that ebay does not allow them to issue a refund after 90 days.
Can someone please help as this is ridiculous. $600 item with 2 years warranty

If you paid via PayPal, you can still open a refund claim for Item Not As Described. (Buyer Protection valid for up to 180 days from the date of the transaction.)
I’m not making sense of your timeline, though. You say it was delivered 25th September - which is less than 30 days. You should still be covered by eBay’s Money Back Guarantee which is valid for up to 30 days from the date of item delivery. Are you sure you have the date correct?
Note that warranties stated by eBay sellers are nothing more than a load of toad’s turd – unless the seller is registered in Australia, is an Australian business with ABN, and is an authorised dealer for the item (authorised, that is, by the manufacturer / Australian distributor).
What’s the item number? (Not the order number - the actual item number on the original eBay listing.)

There is no warranty so that is moot
Don’t allow things to drag on, don’t buy from dodgy sellers and don’t play with dodgy sellers
Why did you not open an item not as described dispute?

I would be opening an Item Not Described TODAY, as that is the last day of your MBG window.
I would be reluctant to pay return postage, and I certainly wouldn't pay extra. Given you seem to be communicating outside eBay, that would be a windfall for the scammer seller.
Follow the Countess' advice. If you are out of time for eBay, use Paypal or your bank. Paypal will require you to pay for the return postage, but they certainly won't entertain additional charges.

Hi thanks for your return
Sorry my Bad (Dates and this doing my head in)
Purchased a Solar Blanket on the 21st July and it was delivered on the 25th July 2024.
I became faulty on the 29th Sept 2024
So return date would have been 24th Aug 2024
Pay pal would not do anything same as ebay as more than 30 days
Also item worked for 60 days, so they says it was as described.
I agree with your 2nd last statement. As I have just found out.

Hi,
Vtoman had a good review and they had a 98.5% positive
I looked where it was coming from, Fairfield East Nsw, but missed that they were based in China
I also had the incorrect dates that I received the item should have been
Purchased a Solar Blanket on the 21st July and it was delivered on the 25th July 2024.
I became faulty on the 29th Sept 2024
So return date would have been 24th Aug 2024
Thanks for your input

PayPal is 180 days
But if you used it for 60 days, then obviously it was as described when it arrived and they have no way of knowing if it was faulty when it was sent, or if it was damaged/misused by the buyer
This is not the sort of thing you want to be buying off a random seller in China who has poor feedback
The fact they are in China alone would tell you there is no enforceable warranty in Australia

Had the dates incorrect
Purchased a Solar Blanket on the 21st July and it was delivered on the 25th July 2024.
I became faulty on the 29th Sept 2024. So worked for 2 months
So return date would have been 24th Aug 2024
Ebay told me communicate directly with the seller to try to get a refund.
I have been on the chat line to them 3 times.
Apparently after 30 days and now 90 days they really cannot do anything same as Pay Pal
Thanks for you inplut

Unless things have changed, I think you have up to 180 days with paypal so if you paid that way, may be worth a try.
I don't think they cover warranty issues though. More for things that are faulty from the start or items you never receive.

The OP has already tried both PP & eBay Springy - think both denied because the item worked for 60 odd days.
So could have been either faulty after that time or user error.
