SCAM - Chinese sellers misrepresenting item location - Equick

So here is the latest 'SCAM' many Chinese sellers are now using in their listings to convince you to buy from them as their stock is supposedly located in Australia and you will get the goods quicker.

'AU STOCK' is big and bold in their listing heading.

In fact the item is in China and they use a re-fullfilment service called Equick.cn who consolidate many sellers parcels on a daily basis and ship them to Sydney. Equick then despatch them using Australia Post from their warehouse in Botany.

Around 4-5 days after you make your purchase you finally receive the tracking advice from Australia Post, which makes you think the items are in Australia, but in fact they have not even left China.  Around 10-14 days later you finally receive the goods.

This activity is clearly misleading and a breach of eBay's 'misrepresenting item location' rules and needs to be stopped.

Not the right thread, but to add, it is common for parcels to go through different states, eve if it was posted in your state, before getting to you. There is every chance that your parcel was posted from Sydney.

I have had parcels posted from Melbourne go to Perth, then Sydney before getting to me in country Vic and many people report the same. It is all about logistics and the most convenient freight for AP.

Re: SCAM - Chinese sellers misrepresenting item location - Equick

I ordered 3 animated dogs and instead receive 5 unanimated dogs with nowhere to put the battery and I have been trying to contact the seller allegedly in Chullora which is the return address on the envelope returning 5 dogs.  I am so disappointed in this scam as I wanted to give them to my grandchildren and great grandchildren   It's a disgrace.  Eileen   I will send them back when i receive the refund.

Firstly and most importantly - eBay don't read the boards and any email you get will be from a scammer from amongst the billions of people with an internet connection. All of which can read the eBay boards.

Secondly - go through the procedures available to you through the eBay Money Back Guarantee. Specifically, item not as described.

Thirdly - it is only a scam if you allow it to be. By not following my advice in point 2, for example.

I've reported YKS to paypal. At least I'll get my money back. I don't buy from anyone unless I can pay with PayPal.

Hi guys, I have being caught out by UBI LOGISTIC PTY LTD recently too. I bought 2 pairs of magnetic eyelashes from an online store with head office having an address in France but the item was sent from Zhang Dandan. Called Australia Post and found out the sender is UBI Logistic and Australia Post even gave me their address after I explained the sender pretty much cheated me on my monies via misleading advertisement and refused to reply my emiails. Needless to say, no one pick up my calls when I rang UBI Logistic. What I received was not even the item I bought from the website & the qty is only 1 pair! I just jump on LinkedIn to find out who are the employees. I am sending my letter as per ACCC’s suggested template to UBI’s Business Development Manager and UBI’s eCommance & Forwarding Manager. Those individuals are both located in Sydney! This is first time I’m cheated by such scammer!
