Saw listings with offer like 'would u like to only pay $ .... for this item. Ebay deny it so?

Saw comment on multiple listings last week - it was located below but around where listed price is shown - it was words like 'how would you like to only pay $ .......   it was a discount & equated to 10%.  It had disappeared by evening & when I went to ebay asking about this it was an exercise in frustation.  I don't know from where ebay source staff or do they train them to be evasive, further confuse the issue & to offer every assistance short of actual help.    

So can someone out there confirm this offer or whatever it is called exists & is not a figment of my imagination.

From time to time, eBay will provide some members with a discount coupon, there's a few different types, but it sounds like the one you had was a site-wide discount (i.e. it would have applied to any eligible purchase, not just from a specific seller or category). However there are always a few conditions and an expiry date, so once the coupon expires, often all trace of the offer will disappear (sometimes they will appear as an expired coupon on your My eBay summary page).

Or the seller had a limited time discount promotion which expired while the OP was dithering

Many thks for sharing your knowledge - the 3rd ebay person who contacted me is at least admitting what I saw existed & was not a figment of my imagination. Discount appears to have been site wide given my wife had same offer. Now I just have to figure out when it is likely to re-appear. Regards Tom

Absolutely correct with what you saw.

Have to say that I'm not adverse of using the coupons that eBay distribute.

10% discount on several $100 purchases or so, adds up after awhile - and the coupons keep coming.

Keep using the discount vouchers while you can.

The more you buy the less often you will get them.

Some of us who have bought plenty on ebay over many years are lucky to get a 10% voucher once a year.

All we ever get are the site wide offers that everyone can access.

I got my first one in 6 months last week. And I normally only buy eBay satchels, which I have no control over.

Yep.

Bought some standard AP satchels for sales elsewhere. Can't see a problem with eBay subsidising that.
