Seller Feedback

Hi, after a few hundred very, very bad inferior quality purchases from a few hundred womens dresses companies on Ebay, i found myself more and more reluctant to trust Seller feedback ratings.

How is it possible, after months of investigating and searching suitable suppliers, that an Ebay Seller from 2006 has NO NEGATIVE feedback - NOT EVEN ONE ! If this is by some miracle the truth, i still find myself hesitant to trust because the pictures on their store is almost identical to the ones i had problems with. Keeping in mind that these companies are stealing intellectual property from well known designer brands and Ebay are "promoting", or not doing anything about this.

Thinking of leaving Ebay for good, this is bad business on all angle's except for Ebay Man Sad

Re: Seller Feedback

I've been on eBay since 2005 and only recently got my first negative. I had missed a defect on an item I sold and the buyer chose to hit the red dot rather than contact me first. That's fine, it was my mistake.

The numbers you see under the feedback are only for the last 12 months. Those sellers may well have had negs in the past, just none in the last 12 months. Also, quite often buyers will contact a seller directly when there is an issue and the seller is happy to fix the issue without the need for the buyer to open a dispute. The buyer is satisfied with the outcome, so they leave positive feedback.

What is so wrong with all the clothes you've bought? The brand new ones, sellers are allowed to use a stock photo. If buying clothes online is that big an issue, maybe you'd be best shopping instore.

Threatening to leave eBay is pointless. Ebay certainly doesn't care. Most other people don't really care either.

Unless you have another account you are seriously exaggerating the situation.

All the feedback on this account is in the last 12 months, most of it in the last 6 months.

And the sellers you have had problems with are not businesses....just private sellers selling pre-owned clothes.

You have certainly managed to damage all of their accounts...even the sellers who have refunded in full.

In the event that you have another account....from the way you are speaking it sounds as though you are looking at sellers in China.  It is well known to most experienced ebayers that what you see and what you get from these sellers are two different things.  Many of the sellers have multiple accounts which is why you see the same dresses on several sites.   There is nothing wrong with that....it is allowed by ebay.

As for designer brands.....the chances of them being genuine are 0 to none.  Most designer brands are removed when they are reported unless the seller is authorised by the brand to resell their items.  If the prices are too good to be true then they probably are.  The "real deal" will cost about the same on ebay as it does in the shops....and you will know you are getting an authentic dress if you buy it in the shops.

Re: Seller Feedback

Aussiechick, I know what you mean about dress companies. The only reputable ones I've found that I really trust are Fame & Partners & M Label. I usually try to buy from small sellers, not big companies in China trying to sell me their version of a celebrity dress.

Re: Seller Feedback

Whaaooo, settle down, dear oh dear !

I've had many unfortunate deals with China companies to my regret. These companies modify their feedback, OF THIS I AM CONVINCED and NOBODY can tell me otherwise !!! They leave great feedback for themselves whether through partners, friends, family, staff or fake ebay accounts. Enough of my time, after the **bleep** they've sent me, has gone into investigations.

As far as pictures are concerned, those companies, or ANYBODY, ARE DEFINATELY NOT ALLOWED to use famous fashion designer pictures. Its regarded as intellectual property and i would suggest YOU get approval before you use any stock pictures !

China has now "invaded" Ebay, so much so, that you find it hard to get Aussie stuff. I think most Aussie's has given up.

Last point - I wasnt THREATENING to leave Ebay. I most certainly are not leaving because people, or the company for that matter, would care, for god sakes.

Re: Seller Feedback

1.  What am i "exaggerating ?

2. What do you know about my dealings on Ebay?

3. Where have i "damaged" their accounts?

4. Dont i know about designer brand stolen pictures? Ebay dont care about FAKE stuff. In Australia, if you dont know, you'll be in big trouble for doing this ! And China dont have ANY REGARD FOR PATENTS, they dont believe in it !

THIS IS THE REASON WHY IM LEAVING EBAY ^^^

I'd say 80% of sellers (and they all are Chinese) sell counterfeit stuff. There are so many of them that no matter how you redefine your search, they are freakin EVERYWHERE !

You dear Sir, better get your facts straight BEFORE JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS !

Re: Seller Feedback

Aussiechick, here are some tips for buying formal dresses in particular -

1. ALWAYS filter the search for Australia Only. This gets the dresses from China out of the way.
2. Do as many refinements as you can - size, sleeve, colours you like, length, etc. Then you only get the dresses you know you'll like.
3. Even though DSRs aren't *that* accurate, it's always worth checking them. If they have more than a few negatives or neutrals within the last 12 months, even if they have 99.8% feedback or something, don't buy from them.
4. Set a feedback limit. Would you buy from a seller with 98% feedback, or 96%? Personally I always choose sellers with at least 99% but I know a lot of buyers only go for 99.5%+.

I've seen you on other threads and you're a lot of fun, so you're welcome and please stick around and give eBay another chance 🙂

Edit: And just ignore the people who attack you, they just have nothing better to do 🙂

Re: Seller Feedback

Thanks JessicaDazzler, i've learned the hard way by chucking a few hundred dollars down the drain. So much for "trusting" Ebay, it was nevertheless my fault, i shoulda known better.

I have learned alot over the past few months here on Ebay, specially how to redefine a search and how to look for feedback scores. Im still not comfortable giving Ebay their dues when such untrustworthy things are happening and them not doing anything about "counterfeit" goods.

But thanks for that, you are very kind xx
