Seller emailed me After paid and posted demanding extra 37 for postage cost?????

Hi,

I recently bid on and won 4 used m&m dispensers. I won the auction for $89 and it had a flat postage price in the listing as $22. NOTHING anywhere on the listing saying the postage varied, or asking to contact or wait for invoice nothing saying that as not the real postage price.

So, as i always do, i paid instantly. She never contacted me after i paid to say that postage was not correct, or postage could be different from that stated in listing.

I have heard nothing from the seller then or in the time prior to them sending the item.

Tonight i received an email saying they posted it and the postage price was wrong. It came to 59.70 in total and she is demanding the extra 37.70 be put into her account today.

I understand nobody likes to be out for postage. And If she contacted me PRIOR to posting and said there was. Listing error for the postage, it was 37 more. Gave me an opting to find a cheaper courier or ask if i still wanted it when postage was so high since the flat rate $22 postage quote was her error..but to post it and then demand nearly 40 extra afterwards?

Is that right? And do i have to pay it?

I am not out to do the wrong thing, or intentionally cause anyone a loss but i think its a little but unfair.

Re: Seller emailed me After paid and posted demanding extra 37 for postage cost?????

Thanks everyone. I contacted the seller and told them politely that due to them not contacting me before posting, and that i found 2 couriers who would send BOTH boxes for LESS than her $22 postage quote.( both couriers were the onyi two couriers i checked so i didnt have to look around.and i attached the courier quotes as proof) i was not going to pay the money she is requesting on ebay and via PayPal.

She proceeded to tell me that she had contacted eBay and PayPal about this issue and they were ok with her asking for more money. (I doubt this very much .)

And that since i burned her by not paying correct postage she would in future learn form this and refuse to post items unless she received the extra money from now on. And that she IS allowed to do this,

I doubt very much she contacted eBay and PayPal who told her it was ok to ask for money. I also find it odd that all she got out of this whole thing was she needs to demand the money first, not find it cheaper..or quote more carefully. I told her more than once it is against eBay policy but she ignored all that,

So maybe as another user suggested, under quoting postage may not be accidental, but rather a means to get more buyers, and then get them to pay the extra after winner.

Who knows, but it is all sorted now from my end anyway.

Got the items and they were packaged poorly, no bubble wrap or anything, and so the front of the box was badly damaged on one but it sure isn't worth the effort or drama worrying about it so ii will just suck that up.

Of course they can ask you to pay more postage, but you don't have to agree..... so eBay probably did advise her to politely ask you...

She is just going to get into all sorts of hot water if she continues on with her current beliefs, but what can ya do?

*shrugs*

report her for non perfiormance (future buyers)

if she refuses to send

buyers are covered if they use PayPal and pay as they can claim INR if she doesn't send, but my crystal ball says that she's going to upset a few people if she continues on in this way and they may very well exopress their opinion via feedback

Re: Seller emailed me After paid and posted demanding extra 37 for postage cost?????

I received a message from ebay ( I contacted them after she repeatedly sent PayPal invoices))in their email they stated their account was already under investigation by ebay and the emails she sent that i forwarded to them apparently may cause her to have disciplinary action.

They have a FB score of over 2000 and this is their 3rd account from what i can see.. Perhaps she has been through this a few times before.?

Like you said, hopefully people continue to report her if she continues doing the wrong thing.
