Yesterday's Listing showed that the Seller will be back today.
So I bought.
Today the Listing (new Listing same Item) shows Seller will be back in 14 days time. This is confirmed by the auto reply that I got.
Is this a new stuff-the-buyers tactic?
I learnt a new lesson today and found another example of why buying on eBay is turning into an ordeal.
Never believe what you read and never assume the Seller will be back when they say they will be.
PS This guy is in Queensland (I in NSW).
Though I get auto replies when I email them, they did reply to my first email offering to REFUND my money WHEN THEY GOT BACK.

It's frustrating, isn't it?
But just deep breathe
Perhaps something came up that means the seller will be away for longer than they had planned. Perhaps he originally was called away to his sick father and is now dealing with something far more serious.
He may still well honour any sales made until today and has just extended his time off for the new listings.
It's too early to be concerned just yet.
If you haven't heard or seen anything in say 10 to 14 days, if you payed by PayPal, you have 45 days in which to raise an item not received case.
BUT, for now, you really don't know if he has returned from leave today, is processing the orders waiting for him and updated his future listings and sales with the new notification of leave.

There are no new listings from the seller. They haven't listed anything new since June 11th.
The listing you purchased from is still active and showing a return date of the 9th of July. (although the seller may have updated that information if something has happened to cause a delay in their return)

He said he was overseas.
Why couldn't he have suspended his listings until he came back.
He wants to collect the $$$$ but lies about when you'll get the items - because he's not here to send them (probably overseas buying them).

yes and then keep putting auto messages up every time they expire until you're ready to send the items people paid for and after you've told them that they would be receiving them by a particular day
You shouldn't be selling if you are not around to honour your commitments.

So.
The deep breathing isn't working for ya, eh?

Geez there are so many sellers who use that excuse - something came up.
What about the ones that disappear and get suspended.
99.9% - eBay makes you privvy to their stats, right. Beware of people spruiking statistics - another trick in the merchants book of All Customers Are Stupid.

So are you saying that when that warning goes up on top of the listing it cannot be changed until the day it expires.
I find it very unlikely that circumstances should change on the day a Seller says that they'll be back on.

What's even more annoying about this is I cannot give negative feedback to warn other buyers that this guy is unavailable even when he says that he will be available.
