Seller leaving ebay

I just received an email from seller in the UK stating they are leaving ebay due to their high costs and said they were changing to Amazon.
I wonder if thats going to start a new trend?

Ignoring the fact that used books are a bit more than a miniscule market, Amazon's foray into Australia for books (what they are mainly setup for) is an expensive minefield. And unlikely to challenge any established site in this country.

I am sorry davewil I have tried over years to take your posts about markets seriously, but I can't.  You know why, its not interpersonal it is just fact.

Perhaps do more research about mobiles and purchasing trends, then we could discuss seriously ?? maybe  ??

I've bought a couple of books from Amazon sellers, but only when I couldn't find them on eBay, even then they mostly wanted top-dollar for the books on BIN.

No auctions as far as I know on Amazon, and a very small choice of categories..............

Nope, Amazon as it stands, is not for me as a buyer.

Apparently in Japan eBay has been ousted by their own site - I have no idea how well it works (since I can't read Japanese) - and New Zealand has their own selling site (for sheep pehaps......)

Spoiler
carries on munching on popcorn................

Re: Seller leaving ebay

Nope, not the perfect buyer - that would imply I don't ever complain, never open a dispute and always pay by bank deposit.

I am by default not the perfect poster either since I will stand up for things that I believe are out of order (yes and get slapped for it now and again)

Most times I keep original.gif

But as  General George S Patton said :-

Re: Seller leaving ebay

You read soooo much more into posts or attach a meaning that IMO is not the intent .... thank you for sharing what you think I or others meant, and/or your interpretation ... fascinating ...

Padi, even if she doesn't, I most certainly would.

I'm sure you know how much I value your opinion. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi cq, well let me start with the fact that there should be no need for mods in Utopia.....................

Ah well, the boards aint Utopia by any means, it's fine to have a bit of fun here and there, but it's more important to not use these boards to denegrate other members, I know we've both seen very experienced members pull out of responding here because of the back-stabbing that's happened in the past.

Where those original problems started I have no idea - could be that the written word can be taken in so many different ways - but I tend to doubt that in every case, personalities tend to come to the fore...............

I said a few years ago when I started a post,( that I got mightily slapped for) that the boards were for helping members and really that's what they're for.

I asked for posters at that time to leave their personal feelings aside and focus on what the boards were really for..... hmm, didn't work...

In the past I've got people together face to face over a barbie to sort their problems out - sometimes that one doesn't work either.

I know 2 families that have had a feud for 3 generations and will not stop even though they don't know what the original problem was.........

Go figure.....

I don't think that the conflicting personalities will ever stop having a shot at each other, and that is a real shame.

Spoiler
But then again, to live in Utopia would be pretty boring hey...................

Take care cq, keep up the good work........................Padi.
