I recently bought a DVD set that was described as Like New. However, upon receipt the condition was no better than Good per Ebay guidelines. The case has scuffs and scratches all over, the DVDs had small scratches and smudges, the booklet had a big crease in it. The condition did not match the pictures, nor did the seller describe these flaws in his listing. The seller did not accept returns, but Ebay requires you to contact them anyway before requesting the money back guarantee. When I contacted the seller with the problem, he offered a partial refund only a third of the price I paid. I declined. He said the he knows what Like New and stands by his description. I replied that he isn't an honest person, so I'll just go with the Ebay money back guarantee. I sent him the description of Like New. He got nasty and threatened to report me to Ebay. He accused me of just trying to cash in on the money back guarantee, so just return it and he'll refund me. I said I didn't trust him that he wasn't going to accuse me of damaging the item. Well, sure enough, I return it and he refuses to refund me and reports me to Ebay saying I damaged the set. Well, I had posted pictures and such in the return and Ebay decided in my favor. I left negative feedback. But, he then left feedback back (as positive) that called me a fraud, and that I damaged the item then returned it. I replied that he was deranged and dishonest. He then replied back that I harassed him. How can I get this feedback removed from my profile? I've had 427 transactions over 16 years and all positive. This is the first time I've encountered anyone so deceitful, it's flabbergasting.

Just contact eBay and ask for it's removal,(sellers can't leave positive feedback with negative comments).

Yep, I realized these are Australian boards after I posted....as I got here by doing a google search on feedback with lies. Anyway, I suspect Australians are smarter than us Americans anyway and would know the answer. Thank you very much.

I've been though that too. Digusting experience and I do sympathize with you. 3 times I have been totally ripped off by dishonest sellers and the one that gets me the worst was an American seller who specialises in records and memorabilia. I bought what I was led to believe a near mint hi-fi brocure. All it was was a few pages pulled out of a well read magazine with finger-nail type creases all over it. Seller wanted me to return at my cost and only refund me the cost of purchase. That meant I would be out of pocket for bothways postage.
And you wouldn't believe it, this so-called respectable seller tried an angle of getting an extra $10 out of me. I conplained and luckily as a once-off gesnture, PayPal stepped in and refunded me. Not through the refund process, just as a good-will gesture.
This seller still does it, lists pulled out pages as trade advertisements and people buy them thinking they have a genuines promo poster when it's just a page pulled out of Billboard or Cashbox magazine.
So I feel for you, I really do.
