Seller lost. I lost Ebay messed up again

Two items I really wanted.  Waited hours to bid.  With fifteen seconds still to go --- according to Ebay-Time -- I placed my bid.

And up came the screen:  ' Bidding has ended for this item' or whatever it says

I stayed away from this place for over six months

Returned a couple of days ago to discover it's even worse than when I left

Soon as I've completed a couple more items I'm out of here

and I'll be staying away for a lot longer than six months, next time around

One-click bid is good but you need to have placed a bid already for that option to be available.

And then it's an option for the last 15 mins from memory.

That would be interesting zelly, Copenhagen is 9 hours behind. Smiley LOL

Re: Seller lost. I lost Ebay messed up again

Why didn't you just bid on the items earlier? That way you would have either been outbid, or got the items you were after...

------------------------------------------------------

That's perfectly true, but often people come on here and say they are upset because of snipe bidding or they are afraid their bids have been falsely manipulated, if you like, in the sense that someone bids against them for a while then withdraws the final, leading bid, leaving the winner with a much higher price to pay than they possibly would have had there been no opposing bidder.

So it calls into question how to avoid some of the non-genuine bidding and the answer that is almost always given to posters here is... don't bid early, leave it till the last minute, that way you can't be manipulated.

If an auction is down to the last minute, it is down to the last minute, no matter where in the world the auction is. The actual time doesn't matter. But we should expect the ebay timer to be reasonably accurate. It is a pain when it is not.

It may not of been ebay's fault. Your computer may of needed a cleanup at the time, your internet may of dropped for a second or a thousand other issues. It's pretty harsh just laying at ebays feet.

2 things I have noticed with the countdown timer. On the computer, the timer might say 59 seconds to go. On the phone app, it might say 50 seconds to go at exactly the same time. There's a difference between the 2 times.

OP, did you happen to look at the sellers other items while waiting to bid, then click the back button to get back to the auction? If so, that can cause issues because the timer can stall for a few seconds when you click back. It might say 59 secs to go, when in actual fact there is only 45 seconds to go.

I've had a few buyers that had planned on bidding in the last 10 seconds. When they did, they were told the auction had finished, then they were notified that the item had been relisted. All of them had checked my other items while waiting, then just clicked the back button.

If you don't understand what I mean, click on any auction that's close to finishing, then go for a browse through the sellers other items. Then click the back button, take notice of the timer time, then refresh the page. I think in most cases, you will find the time on the timer does jump forward.

Goofbid.com change to Australia.
I have been using this snipe bidder for years.
You can put your bid on days before and forget about it.especially if you are bidding overseas and it ends in the middle of the night.
Put the most you are willing to pay, then wait. Sometimes you win cheap, sometimes the darest bid you put on, and then sometimes you loose.
No stress bidding this way.

P.s.

Meant to say you do not need to have a bid on, to use this snipe bidder. So no one knows you even going to bid, also no charges to use the site.

Sadly I agree, my internet can be awesome, or sporadic at best, depending on how it feels on the day.

And sure as eggs, it will be a sporadic day if I want to last second bid.
