If there was nothing mentioned in the listing about dates the seller would be available to enable to be the item to be picked up:
Really it is up to you how long you are willing to wait
It could be the seller has a genuine reason for not responding (an accident/emergency etc)
It could be another buyer has 'bought' a pick up item and has sent their contact details and hence both *that* buyer and this seller have been canned by ebay and can not respond to any messages for a week
It could be they are just a 'bad seller' and do not care
I am not sure if it willow allow you to open an item not recieved dispute ?
if so, that may spur them into responding
As for getting cut off by live chat, that is very common if the CS staff on the other end finds a question 'too hard' (they just drop off and end the chat)

Rather a dilemma. I haven't come across this one before. My only suggestion would be to use the "help" at the top of the page, to contact eBay and select "call me back". Other members on here have often mentioned that you seem more likely to get someone who is helpful by doing this.

No worries, as Bear has said, there may be a logical reason they have not replied. Don't give up hope yet, it may still work out for you.

Having already paid for the item, you should be able to get their phone number
from ebay to contact them that way.

If you get no joy within the next few days, you can also contact paypal & explain & you'll be given a refund, I would almost guarantee it.

I'm pretty sure, vincoop because a while back we had a buyer for a pick up item & it was the opposite way round than for you in that he would not respond to messages to arrange a pick up time. After we opened an unpaid item dispute, he paid via paypal but a week later rang paypal to say he could not pick up & was given a full refund.
So you certainly should be able to as well.
