I paid for a item. Courier co.pany said the item wasn't even picked up so I asked eBay for refund they said wait 5 days and if you still dont have item we will refund you. I was refunded. A week later the item arrived. I told the seller I will send item back tomorrow with photos and tracking number. the seller than said he would dispute eBay's decision for the refund(which can't be done. The refund has already been processed. I got my money back under eBay money guarantee)
this was the second time he was rude to me like that. So I told him fine. You pay for return postage. (eBay also told.me seller doesn't want the item??????)
So now what now? I was willing to pay return but not anymore. eBay said I could keep the item as the seller doesn't want it (does eBay actually know that he doesn't want it or was that a mistake??)and I dont exactly
have a lot of money.

If the seller wants the item returned, he will need to pay for its return.
I do feel for the seller, though, if what you’re saying is that the seller organised pickup with the courier, and the courier just hadn’t got their rear ends off the couch.

Seller said the item was picked up on initial purchase. Couriers tracking didn't update to say it was picked up or even where it was. So I don't know what really happened but it has arrived now.
thanks for reply. I'll continue messaging seller. If he continues to ignore me what can I do? How long do I have until the item is officially mine and it can no longer be returned?

If it has arrived and is what you ordered, why do you want to return it?
Just pay again.
As a seller, I would be reluctant to deal with impatient buyers.

If you were able to open an ebay claim for an item not received, then obviously it had passed the estimated arrival date range. It sounds as if ebay even gave him a few days past that.
I'm afraid that if I paid for an item and it wasn't even showing as being picked up by then, I would have been opening a claim, just as you did.
You have been given a refund by ebay. They will not reverse that.
So if the seller wants the item back, he needs to pay for return postage. He can send you a postage label.
I wouldn't be writing to him any more. I'd just keep the refund and the item unless he was forthcoming with a label.
Ebay may very well say the seller doesn't want his item back but I don't think that is based on any cosy correspondence, it is more ebay saying-the case is closed, you don't need to do anything now.
It's the seller's responsibility to choose how something is posted & to see it arrives on time. That's his job. He didn't manage it.
I don't necessarily agree that if you bought it you would still want it and can just repay him. A lot of the time when something doesn't arrive or is not on time, a person has gone out and bought a replacement. You should not have to pay for someone else's tardiness or for something you no longer need.
You're in charge here, you have the refund, you have, very belatedly, received the item. If he wants it back, he can pay for the postage.
